Drip.. drop.. drip.. drop...

Kenny stood at the main doors of the school, frowning as he observed the rain. He had forgotten to bring his umbrella and he was debating whether to just make a run for it or wait until the skies cleared up. He had just gotten over a cold, though the sneezing and sniffling still hadn't stopped, so running through the rain didn't seem like the best idea.

Suddenly someone tapped him on the shoulder; he turned around to see his boyfriend grinning at him. His frown immediately broke out into a matching wide grin when he noticed Butters was holding an umbrella in one hand.

"Oh hey Buttercup, you brought an umbrella!" Kenny exclaimed, pleased, his eyes twinkling.

Butters sighed dramatically "Of course I did, someone hasta be the responsible one in this relationship." The shorter one chuckles. Babying Kenny was one of Butters' most favorite things.

"Heh heh.. irresponsible brat." Butters added teasingly, sticking his tongue out. He knew how much Kenny hated to be called a brat.

"Wow, sorry I'm not as responsible as you." Kenny said sarcastically with a pout.

Butters couldn't help but laugh at his boyfriend's cuteness. "You don't hafta be. I took this from Stan." He explained triumphantly, grin widening when his words elicited a laugh from the other blonde boy.

"Won't Stan find out and get angry?" Kenny asked concernedly. He knew how scary Stan could be when he wanted to be.

Butters shrugged "It gave him an excuse to cozy up with Kyle, so it's a win-win situation." He said pointing to Kyle and Stan, who were walking towards the gate, huddled under the one umbrella with both boys blushing furiously.

"Shall we?" Butters said, offering his free arm to Kenny, the other hand holding the umbrella.

Kenny smiled and accepted Butters' hand. Once they had walked down a few streets, the taller boy spoke. "Aren't you worried you'll catch a cold if you walk so close to me?" he asked worriedly.

Butters shrugged "Well, we can be sick together. That's better than you being sick all by yourself." He said simply.

Kenny rolled his eyes "You're so cheesy, babe." he complained, though he couldn't hide the blush on his cheeks.

Butters just laughed at his significant other before they lapsed into silence once again.

Butters groaned inwardly, as his arm muscles yelled at him. Keeping the umbrella at an appropriate height for his tall boyfriend was difficult but Butters chose not to complain, it was all part of being the perfect boyfriend.

As if he could sense Butters' discomfort, Kenny spoke. "Do you want me to hold the umbrella?" he offered.

Butters nodded (trying not to seem too enthusiastic) and handed over the umbrella.

Butters was happy that his arm muscles could take a break; he didn't stop to consider the disadvantages of letting Kenny hold the umbrella. He held it way too high for Butters, He winced as the wind grew stronger, pelting his face with even more raindrops. He glanced at Kenny, wondering whether or not to mention it to the giant orange pumpkin boy

Before he could speak, he started as he realized the umbrella had reached lower, protecting him from the onslaught of raindrops. He glanced sideways to see Kenny grinning at him, all teeth and gums. He was walking with his knees bent and Butters had a good inkling of how uncomfortable that was but Kenny continued to walk like that, for him.

Butters resisted the urge to kiss the tall one right then and there but he failed. In a moment of pure affection, he pressed his lips to Kenny's causing him to drop the umbrella but neither boy made an effort to pull away, letting the rain embrace their bodies and soak them from head to toe.

And the very next day, both Butters and Kenny came down with a cold, neither one of them complained.
