Ciel's P.O.V.

A smirk remained on my lips, unwavering confidence that no matter what I would win this game against her.

"Why yes I play chess frequently. I've been  privately skill tested and I believe the results were that I could be a chess master if I wasn't female." (Y/N) responded, her (e/c) eyes lighting up in sudden excitement. "Are you suggesting we play a game?"

"Of course I am, chess is one of my few passions. However getting a game with a worthy opponent is next to impossible." My smirk turned into a look of confidence, my blue eye glistening with excitement for the game ahead. "Then let's play, m'lady."

The first move. Always extremely important, just like a first impression; the wrong one could loose the entire game. Chess is increasingly similar to reality, just a meaningless game. I move the piece. The game has begun.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V.

Pathetic, truly. The first move indicated the entire game was leaning to my advantage. A smirk played on my lips as I navigated each piece around the bored. When all seemed to be in my favour, Ciel initiated traps, claiming my pieces.

Soon I noticed that he was a truly worthy opponent; completely on par with my abilities. Entirely equal. And then I sighed loudly, annoyed I did win. Ciel did the same. Neither of us could win, our abilities truly were entirely equal.

Stalemate.
