Waiting [Hyakka Hyakurou's Fanfic] (ON HOLD!!!)

Prologue

               Into the forest, a boy carries the wounded girl into his arms, safety to a village. However, he saw a hint of the girl's eyes dimming. He stops running and lays the girl down on the grass. His face went closer to hers as his right eye glows. The moonlight then shines over them, seeing the two together.

              "I've... always waited... for you. I couldn't help, but... smile when you finally... came back home," the wounded girl said, weakly. She has short indigo hair with a small red hair clip on the side and crimson eyes. She wore an indigo and black shinobi outfit, however, her clothes were soaked by blood.

              "Yeah..." The boy replied, caressing her cheek. He has long black hair, long bangs that covered his right, and amber eyes. He wore an indigo mixed with various of violets and black shinobi outfit.

               "Hey, Kuroyuki... Since you're home... can you... pat my head again...?" she asked the boy. His eyes widen in surprised and smiled at her, holding his tears.

                "...Yeah," He replied again, patting her head like she requested. She smiled at him with joy. She felt a bit of nostalgic, feeling the warmth of his hand on her head.

                "You know... I've always... liked you..." she said. "I liked you since... forever. It's strange, right... Kuroyuki?"

                 "Yeah... I know that," he replied. "No... I don't think it's strange."

                  "But... you liked her, right...? Enju-nee..." she said. "That's why... if you do... I'll... give up on you... I wanted... to respect... your wishes..." The boy felt like he couldn't hold his tears any longer, but managed to hold them a little longer.

                  "Baka..." he chuckled a little. "Even so... Even if I did liked Enju... I would choose you. You know that I... like you too."

                  "Ah... you're so kind..." she said, slowly lifts her hand and caresses his cheek. "I couldn't help, but... fall for you even more..."

                  "Yeah... Same here," he replied, removing his hand from her cheek. He held her wrist and peck her hand. "Eiko.... Look at me. Everything will be alright. You don't have to be afraid. The world you see... the world you dream... everything... is perfect till the end."

                  "You're right... Everything's perfect... because you're here... with me," she said. "Kuroyuki... Do you... remember? That promise... The promise that I... purposed to you...?" 

                 "...Yeah.... I remember..." he replied. "You said that when I come back home, we should get married. But... I broke that promise because of my ninjutsu's power. I forgot about it until you. Even if my entire memories are gone, I would never forget about you... Eiko."  

                  "I'm so happy," she said. "Kuroyuki..." 

                  "Yes?" he asked. "What is it, Eiko?" He tightly held her wrist, not wanting to let her go. 

                   "I... love... you..." she finally said as her crimson eyes begin to close on their own. "............."

                   "Eiko?" he said, calling her name. "Hey... Eiko? Eiko!" However, there was no response. His tight grip loosens her wrist, dropping by itself lifelessly on the grass. Tears began to fall from his eyes as he held her body close to him.

                    "Please... don't leave me. No... You can't be dead... I... I cannot bear that...!" he sobs. Once again, there was no response. 'She looks so peaceful,' he thought to himself, looking at the girl with sorrowful eyes. He looks at the dagger and its sheath that was connected on her boot. He took it from its sheath, knowing what he has to do. "...It'll be alright. I also promised that... we'd be together forever. For eternity, I'll stay by your side... Wait for me, Eiko." He puts the dagger near his throat, feeling the cool metal. 

"A world without you... is pointless anyway."

A/N: Right now, I'm trying to focus on my studies [with reality] as best as I can. At the same time, I really wanted to come back to Wattpad and write more of the fanfics for everyone. However, sometimes I couldn't help but worry if I don't balance both my studies and Wattpad. No matter what, I'll do my best to continue the series as much as I can.
