Two years later, during Spring, a woman with beautiful and shiny grey hair approaches a tombstone. In her hands were yellow chrysanthemums and white lilies, setting them in front of the tombstone. The man with short black hair was beside her sets up a plate with food and two small cups of water, besides the flowers. The two moved away from the tombstone.
Woman: Kōga has changed a lot since the two of you left. I wished... y'all could see it with everyone.
The woman looks afar and there was a lively village, thriving with tons of people getting along with one and another. Folks, young and old were laughing and children, big and small, running around with joy. The village was filled with happiness.
Her eyes sadden as she looks at the ground until the man embraces her from behind. She felt as ease for a moment, feeling his warmth comforting her. He lets go as the two of them puts their hands together and prayed.
Woman: Thank you for everything up until now. I wish you both happiness and joy. We'll come back again.
Man: Rest in peace... Eiko... Kuroyuki...
The two stopped praying as they turned their backs while entwining their hands, leaving the tombstone alone.
Woman: *sighs* I wished we could stay there longer. I wanted to talk to them more.
Man: I understand how you feel, but...
Woman: Don't worry, the baby is still healthy. If I faint, you'll be carrying me in no time.
Man: *sighs* Even so, you must be careful.
Woman: I will, I will.
The two walked for who knows how long, but they stopped at a waterfall and rest under a tree. The woman leans on the man's broad shoulder and tightens her entwine hand to his, lightly touching her cheek.
Man: Enju-sama...? What's wrong?
Woman: It's nothing. You don't have to worry about it, Gekkamaru.
Man: Of course, I'm worried. Whenever we visit them, your eyes are always in pain. The more you think too much, the more you'll stress yourself. (leans his head on hers) It's alright, I'm here with you. If there's anything you wanted to say, you can tell me.
Woman: ...It's just that... sometimes I wonder, what would happen if things were different? Would everything remain the same as they were before or... would there be a difference with a happier ending?
Man: Enju-sama...
Woman: (closes her eyes) Gekkamaru... Let's go and visit everyone. It'll be a quick visit, I promise.
Man: *smiles* Let's visit them as much as you like. No matter what, I'll always stay by your side.
Woman: *smiles back* I as well. Let's stay together for a long time. You, me, and our baby boy.
As the two lovers rested under the tree, they proceed walking towards one place to another, where they buried their beloved friends.
