Noah's POV

Alex's eyes darted to Jack and began to tear up. He didn't even notice her yet. I grabbed her hand and she squeezed mine tightly.
"Run," she whispered. Millie and I nodded and ran towards the door and out into the city. Out of all of NYC, they had to be eating at the exact same place as us. We kept running until we were buildings away from the diner. Alex buried her face into my neck and cried.
"Alex, it's gonna be ok," Millie spoke softly. I wrapped my arms around Alex and sighed.
"This isn't a big deal. Soon this will all be over," I whispered in her ear. There was a long pause until she spoke again.
"I love you so much Noah. You don't even understand." I smiled gently.
"Yes I do. Because i love you just as much."

Millie's POV

Noah and Alex stood in the middle of the city hugging. My eyes started tearing up and I joined their hug.
"Alex, what do you want to do?" I asked gently.
"I wanna go home," she sniffed. I looked at Noah who had tears running down his face. He nodded and began to wipe tears off of Alex's face. I absolutely love their friendship.

Alex's POV

      Now i see why Noah and Millie wanted to get out of the diner. They were jut trying to protect me from getting hurt. We took a taxi back to the train station and bought our tickets. Noah wiped tears off of my face, smiled at my gently, or gave me a kiss on the head every few minutes. Millie continued to hold my hand as we got on the train.
     I know i shouldn't really be upset. I was the one who rejected Jack. But it was the fact that he wouldn't even text me that made me sad. He was my best friend. Now i don't even want to see him.
     We got onto the train and sat down. The train started moving when I felt my phone buzz.

Don't tell me it's Jack.

I picked it up and read the text

Don't shave ice (Finn)
Hey I'm really sorry about what happened at the diner

It's ok
Tell Jack I'm sorry

He's sorry too
He doesn't want to ignore you anymore

Well tell him thanks  and I'll text him later
