Chapter 2

Natsu got out of his car and started to make his way to the main school building. School was already in session so he didn't have to worry about anyone seeing him. At the top floor was the Head Masters office. Natsu knocked on the door and heard a familiar gruff voice say come in. He walked in and smiled when h saw Master Makarov who in 2 years hadn't changed a bit. Makarov looked up and his eyes widened when he saw who just walked into his office. He said to Natsu,
"Natsu, it's good to see you again. You changed in these past two years."
Natsu could tell what he meant,his hair was a littler longer than it usually is. Also he had grown taller.
"It's good to be back gramps, I've missed Magnolia a lot ever since I left."
Makarov smiled as Natsu still called him gramps. This was a special privilege that only Natsu had. Given how long they've know each other. On the other had, Makarov wanted to say something to him.
"I'm sorry about your-."
"It's okay gramps. That was over a year ago."
"Okay then. How is your little sister.
"She's fine, she staying at her aunts but she's gonna move in with me soon. Might even attend this school too.
"Well that's good. But enough of the pleasantries, it's time for the formalities. Now I have all your paper work so your pretty much good to go. Although we need to do a quick MPF test so we know how you rank on the scale. So if you'll follow me to the stadium well get this over with."
Makarov got up while Natsu followed and they made their way out of the build and to the stadium not that far from the school. When they were about to approach Natsu had a question he wanted to ask.
"How's the gang."
"There fine,better than fine actually. Mira and Erza are S-class. Even my own grandson Laxus made it. Gray is the #1 A-class wizard. The rest follow closely behind. However, they did take it hard when you left without saying anything."
Natsu felt pretty guilty when he said that.
"It wasn't my choice you know. I wanted to say goodbye but... It would have made me not wanna go."
"I understand perfectly. You better hope they do because once they find out. They going to clobber you. Hehehe."
That sent shivers down Natsu's spine. Even after two years the thought of an angry Erza scared him to his core. When they reached the stadium they spilt up as Natsu went to the center of the floor while Makarov went to the control box. After a minute a floating sphere came flying out in front of Natsu. Makarov's voiced boomed from the speaker.
"Natsu you know what to do. Give it your all."
Natsu thought for a second before looking at the ball and yelling
Magma Eruption.
A pillar of fire burst out from under the sphere held for about 3 seconds. After it was over a score popped up. 3,879
Natsu heard a thud and looked up to see that Makarov had smashed his head against the panel. After he regained himself he said.
"Natsu your score is well above Gray's. You are know the new #1 A-class wizard."
Natsu thought that it was perfect. Now he can have leverage over the popsicle. Makarov said Natsu was free to go and he would stay to reset everything. Natsu waved then made his way back to the school. He looked at his schedule that was on his phone and it said that he had lunch.
'Good. I'm starving'
Natsu arrived at the building and went to the lunchroom. He stopped before he went in, took some deep breaths and walked in and instantly bumped into some one. The person fell down and looked up in rage but eyes widened when they saw who bumped them. Natsu however was scared shitless as he bumped into the only person he knew with scarlet hair. Erza yelled out his name for the whole room to hear.
"Natsu!?
Everyone had turned and looked at him by know. He didn't know what to do. So he did what any sane person would do. He turned and booked it out of the lunch room. Natsu heard a bunch of footsteps behind him and they were closing in fast. Natsu made it to the stairwell and in quick second thinking decided to go to the roof instead of going to to the second floor or something. Once on the roof he instantly regretted his actions as he was at a dead end. He thought about jumping off the roof debating if he could survive it or not. When the door behind him opened he decided to take his chances and started to get a running start. As he was about to jump a wall of ice blocked his escape. Knowing there was no other way out he turned around and saw the 4 horseman of the apocalypse. Gray,Erza,Mira, and Lisanna. It was silent for a whole minute till Erza walked up to Natsu then punched him in the face. He expected this but still felt pain as she grabbed his shirt before he could hit the ground. He closed his eyes and was prepared to take a barrage of punches but when they didn't come Natsu opened them and saw Erza was crying. She then brought him into a a hug. Soon after Mira and Lisanna joined as well. Minutes later they let go all with red puffy eyes. Natsu looked at saw his best friend Gray. Even though neither of them would admit it they both knew it was true. Natsu walked over to him and proceeded hold his hand out to shake his hand. Only to be met with a fist to the face.
"What was that for ice freak."
"The email I just got saying how I'm the #2 A-class wizard because of one Natsu Dragneel. It even said you got 500 more score than me flame head."
"Did I bruise your ego popsicle. How bout I bruise your face next."
As Gray and Natsu were arguing they failed to notice a steaming Erza who proceeded to bash there heads together. Mira and Lisanna laughed at how they were the same after all this time. After Natsu picked himself up of the floor he turned to the 4 and said.
"Look guys, I'm sorry I left without saying bye. I wanted to say see you before I left but I wasn't allowed. I hope we can still be friends."
"Of course Natsu, we forgive you." Lisanna said.
"We're just glad to see you." said Erza
Everyone else nodded in agreement. Natsu felt a ton of weight fall off his shoulders now that they were was friends again. They sat up there and caught up until the bell rang. Natsu had a class called Wizardry 301 with Gray. He said that it was a class for wizards to improve on their magic. The 301 class was for A-rankers. They made their way into class and Natsu didn't know that many people their. The only people he saw were Elfman,Levy,and Cana. Their also was some boy Levy was talking to but Natsu couldn't see his face. As he made his way over to her the boy turned around and it was Gajeel. Natsu's blood began to boil as he and him had a history together. Gajeel smirked when he saw Natsu.
"Oh look who it is. Finally came back huh. Thought I scared you away for good."
Natsu turned to Levy for an explanation of why she was friends with a person who beat her up back in child hood and often got into fights with Natsu.
"Natsu it's okay. Gajeel has turned over a new leaf. He finally got out of that Phantom Lord school for bad kids. He's actually quite nice."
"Yeah. What she said." Gajeel sneered.
Natsu made a gesture that said I got my eye on you as he made his way to his seat next to Gray in the back of the class. Then came in there teacher. He was tall and had slicked back orange hair.
"Hello class."
"Hello Gildarts." The class responded.  
Gildarts was a completely laid back teacher and insisted the class call him by his first name. He look at his attendance sheet and his eyes widened as he saw Natsu name. He looked up to see a smiling Natsu looking back at him. He motioned for him to come up to the front where he gave him a fist bump and decided to introduce him to the class.
"Class this is Natsu Dragneel. He is new here but is more familiar with the people here than most of you. He is also the new #1 A-class Mage."
This caused Gray to growl in the back. Natsu seeing this decided to tick the Ice-make mage off.
"Got something to say Gray."
Gray bolted to the front of the class room and he and Natsu butted heads.
"Yeah I do you fiery mouth breath."
"You wanna take this outside snow cone."
"Actually that's a great idea." Said Gildarts.
Everyone looked at him like he was crazy.
"For today we're gonna go to the stadium and have a battle for the #1 A rank spot. Now it will only be between the top 4 A-class students. So that's Natsu, Gray, Gajeel, and Elfman. The rest will spectate, so let's get going."
The four of them that were competing looked at each other in anticipation. They were getting ready to leave until Gildarts said something that made this more serious than a sparring match.
"Oh, I almost forgot. Whoever wins will have a chance to become S-class."

Okay guys I'm feeling good. So I'm about to have these next chapters rolling out. Like I'm going to post one later today. Maybe even two. Let's get this new book rolling. Till next time
