Chapter 11

Lucy froze as Natsu attempted to punch her. Right before it made contact Gray caught the fist and pushed Lucy back away from him.
"Natsu what is wrong with you man. You could've hurt her." Said Gray.
Natsu response was to light up his hand in flames prompting Gray to let go of his own. Lucy recovered from her shock and realized that she would have to help fight Natsu. Erza requiped into her Heaven Wheels armor and took a fighting stance while Gray also got ready. Lucy stayed back being that she wasn't as good in hand to hand fighting as the others. Natsu let out a growl before dashing towards Erza who could barely block the attack. Natsu was too quick however and swept her feet out from above her. As she hit the ground Natsu attempted to bring his foot down on her head but Gray tackled him off. They rolled a bit before Natsu kicked him away. After everyone regained their composure Natsu was surrounded on all sides. Natsu heard Makarov coming to help so he encased the floor in fire so he couldn't get in.
"Natsu snap out of it." Yelled Lucy.
"No. He's too far gone. We must incapacitated him." Stated Erza
Lucy took a deep breath before getting into a fighting stance. Natsu let out a snarl before running towards Gray and engaging him in combat. ICE MAKE HAMMER. Gray made a hammer and landed a blow to Natsu's side. Causing him to lose his balance. Erza used this as a chance to strike. Requiping into her purgatory armor and using a mace to knock Natsu onto the ground. During this Lucy had been running around Natsu spreading glitter all into the air. Once Erza back up she motioned with her arm and it moved and stuck to Natsu. Starburst. The glitter exploded all on and around Natsu as he let out a roar of pain. Erza looks at Lucy realizing that she was stronger than she originally thought. Looking at the dust that had blocked there vision of Natsu. They all were on guard waiting for him to move. Lucy thought she saw movement and gazed too close. Fire Dragons Roar. The torrent of flames were too quick and Lucy was hit with them burning her slightly and knocking her out . Ice Make Cannon. Gray used a cannon and fired a ball of ice at Natsu who dodge it effortlessly. Fire Dragons Sword Horn. Natsu engulfed him self in flame and blasted straight into Grays chest breaking a few ribs. He was thrown to the ground and rendered unconscious. Erza was now the last one left. Natsu turned toward her and gave her a glare that promised death. For the first time in her life. Erza was truly scared down to her core. She dequiped her armor and fell on her knees. Tears began to flow down her face as she was terrified of this Natsu. Natsu lit his hand ablaze and charged at Erza ready to end her. Right before he got to her he noticed the tears on her face. He stopped his attack and stared at Erza's crying face. Natsu's body began to revert back to its original state and the reptilian eyes of his disappeared.
"Erza, who made you cry." Was the last thing he said before he fell into her arms losing consciousness.

Natsu opened his eyes and was rushed by a blinding light. After his vision adjusted he saw that he was in a hospital. Looking out the window he figure it was a little after noon. His body felt painful all over and his head hurt. He tried to sit up but his wrist were handcuffed to the bed. Natsu struggled in them but they were magic draining so he couldn't do much. The only thing he could do is wait for a nurse to come. About 10 minutes later a nurse walked in looking at her clipboard. When she looked up from it and saw Natsu looking at her she shrieked than ran out of the room. Another 10 minutes passed when Makarov, a doctor, and a security guard came in.
"Can you please take the cuffs off him. He's not a danger to anyone right now so there's no reason for them." Makarov asked.
The security guard was reluctant but obeyed and took the handcuffs off of him. Natsu rubbed his bruised wrist before looking at the three.
"Why am I here. Why were those handcuffs on me. Why do I hurt so much."
"Listen here, you're are in Magnolia General Hospital. You're here because you have been in a coma for about 2 weeks. You're probably hurting from your lack of movement for the duration of your stay. Also because your magic power was completely depleted and you had injuries when you came in. The handcuffs are because you were considered a threat until you woke up and were deemed otherwise." Said the doctor.
"Why would I be a threat. I haven't done anything." Said Natsu.
"Do you not remember anything that happened at the trials?" Asked Makarov.
"The last I remember is beating Akumu. Now I'm here."
The other three people looked at each other before Makarov signaled them to leave the room. He walked forward and sat in the chair next to Natsu. He sighed before looking into Natsu eyes with a sorrowful look.
"Listen Natsu. While you were fighting Akumu you began to change. You became very dragon like and savage. Gajeel said you began to call Akumu Ancologia which meant you were fighting someone else in your head. Your fight was making the protection barrier fail but you would not heed my words to stop. I had to evacuate the stadium to avoid any civilians getting hurt. Towards the end you transformed into a half dragon beast and you defeated Akumu. You however tired to kill him so Erza,Gray, and Lucy were sent to stop you. They failed as you targeted them and attacked them like they were enemies. After knocking out Lucy and Gray you prepared to finished Erza. She was terrified of you Natsu. The look you gave her made her lose the will to fight. Right before you dealt the final blow you stopped. Apparently the tears of Erza made you snap out of it. You then passed out and here we are."
Natsu was speechless. This was the jumpstart he needed because he now remembered what had happened. A flurry of emotions were going through him. He was sad that he had done that and mad at himself for it. He was scared of what his friends thought of him and if they now hated him. He needed to apologize to them. He tried to get up from his bed but Makarov put a hand on his chest.
"Sorry Natsu. Because of your actions there were people hurt and we had to evacuate the entire stadium. To keep the board from expelling you I had to suspend you for two weeks which came in effect the second you woke up."
"I see. So I have to wait two weeks until I can go back to school. I'll just wait for them to get out of class."
"Now there is some good news about this debacle. Akumu has dropped out of the academy so because you beat him you are now the number one S-class mage."
Natsu smiled softly at this information. The doctor then came in and told Natsu that after a few more test he could leave. Natsu lied down wanting to get out as soon as possible. He wanted to see his friends.

The days without Natsu went slow for Lucy. Seeing as Natsu was her first real friend it was weird to not see him for so long. She felt kinda bad at what had happened but felt no ill will towards Natsu. On her arm she had a burn mark on her bicep which she got from Natsu's flames. She was told that it wasn't permanent and would fade overtime. Gray had two of his ribs broken but he was healing quite fast. The person who had got the worst of it was Erza. Lucy remembered the first night after the trials Erza came over to talk. She talked about how when Natsu knocked out me and Gray she felt hopeless. The thing that really shocked Lucy is that Erza said she was completely terrified of Natsu. The look he gave her mixed with his monstrous power had scarred her. Lucy remembers how at school Erza acted normal but anyone of her friends could tell she was different. Lucy wanted to help but she didn't know how. Two weeks passed and it was Friday. Lucy had gotten used to walking to and from school but still missed riding with him. She went inside her apartment building and walked past Natsu's to get to hers. As she did his door opened and she was pulled inside. A hand was over her mouth so she couldn't scream. She squirmed for a bit before a familiar voice told her to relax. Lucy stiffed as she looked up and saw Natsu grinning at her. She let out a happy squeal before jumping up and hugging Natsu. Tears threatened to fall from Lucy's eyes but she quickly realized her actions and promptly let go of him with a blush covering her face.
"How's it been Luce."
"It's been good. Natsu when did you get out of the hospital."
"I did today. I was waiting for you to get out. I need to talk to you, Gray, and Erza."
A knot formed in Lucy's stomach at how quickly there reunion went from happy to reality. She didn't expect Natsu bring it up this fast as she wasn't going to bring it up herself.
"I already texted Gray and Erza and there on there way. We'll talk when they get here." Said Natsu.
Lucy nodded and went to her home. Something told her that this meeting wouldn't go very well.
