Tris
The anger builds up inside me and I feel like I'm going to burst into flames. Without a second to waste, Tobias is already trying to pull me outside.
"What the hell is going on here?!" I scream, everyone's eyes are on me now but I don't care, I am furious.
"Mom?" I ask a little quieter.
"Beatrice..." my mom starts but is cut off by a stone cold voice.
"No talking Mrs. Prior." Jeanine says while she walks out a glass door.
"You stupid bitch." I say flatly.
"Beatrice, it's okay. She wants to help." My mom says while exhaling deeply.
"Bullshit." I spit back at her. "If she wanted to help you mom, she would have years ago." I'm so angry I can barely stand. Tobias is giving Jeanine an evil glare while Caleb just stands there looking petrified. I escape from Tobias' embrace and slowly but lethally walk closer to Jeanine until I'm in her face.
"You listen to me, and listen good cause this is the only warning your getting, you hurt her or any one else I care about, your gonna feel pain, Ms.Matthews. Do you understand me?" I say scarily, I don't hear an answer so I say it again, "Do you understand me?"
"Yes." She replies back bravely, but the terror is easily seen in her eyes. "I won't touch them..." she takes a deep breath, "I promise." I just laugh because I know she's lying.
"If I believed you, I wouldn't have threatened you in the first place, dumbass."
"Beatrice, what has gotten into you?" My mom asks from the corner of the room. "You were my precious little princess, what happened?" She seems so sad while she approaches me cautiously.
"I grew up mom." I say simply. "It's almost time for you to realize, I'm not a little girl anymore I can handle myself."
"Oh Beatrice, you were always so strong hearted." She sighs while touching my cheek softly.
"I think we should leave now." Tobias says from somewhere behind me.
"You're right." I say while turning towards the door. I hear scorning whispers behind me but I ignore them. I grab Tobias' hand and walk out the glass doors of hell. With a mighty leap I am in the safe walls of the train. I sit down and Tobias sits behind me. He wraps his arms around me and rests his head on my shoulder.
"Tris..." he says timidly,
"Yeah?" I ask back.
"What happens now?" He asks while standing up and brushing off his clothes and standing at the door. "Do we go back to our friends at the compound or..." he stops,
"Or what?" I ask kind of smiling at him.
"What if we run?" He pulls me up and turns me towards him. "But seriously, what if we run away? Run from the confinement of this city, run through fields of Amity flowers until suddenly we're in a whole new world. What if there are people out there waiting for someone? Waiting for us? Just imagine it, Tris. Real freedom. We'll be at peace." I cuddle into his chest and stare at the fleeting world outside. I start considering the pros and cons of running. You know what, screw it. We watch as the Dauntless compound shrinks into nothingness. We are Dauntless but we are free.Authors note
