"Dad, I thought you were in Atlas," Weiss said.

"I was just stopping by to pick up my hairbrush. Seems like I walked in on an important event?"

"Sorry about that."

"Why didn't you let me know sooner, Weiss?"

"I know how you are with me having a relationship. You get mad when I'm dating someone."

"I get mad when you don't let me know who you're dating. I don't mind if you're dating a girl or a guy, but for someone who works for you? I just can't accept it!"

"Dad, please!"

"No, Weiss. We've had this conversation before. Ruby, it was nice to see you. Weiss, can you please escort Ms. Rose out."

Weiss got up and helped me up from the couch. She noticed my lip bleeding. She sighed and we walked towards the door, my hand wanting to hold hers. Jacques was out of sight when I walked out of the door. I turned to give Weiss a hug and was almost tackled to the ground. She looked at me, tears almost coming from her eyes.

"I'm sorry about your lip."

"Don't be."

"Here."

I was expecting her to get a tissue and wipe it up, but I wasn't expecting what was about to happen. Her tongue grazed the cut, licking up the blood that was there. She pulled away and blushed.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that."

"Hey, don't be embarressed," I said, taking her hand.

She pulled away, "I'm sorry, Ruby."

Before she closed the door, she kissed me one last time. Tears were now in her eyes as she closed the door. I stood there, wanting her to come back out, but I knew that wasn't going to happen. I never wanted her to part from me, now it seems like I won't be seeing her for a long time. I got into my car and drove to the hospital to see Yang and Blake.

"Why can't you just let me love someone for once dad!" Weiss yelled.

"I said you can love anyone, other than the people who are working for you."

"But I don't consider Ruby working for me, for the company name."

Jacques sighed and looked at Weiss, "Sweetheart, Ruby is working for you because you bear the comapny name with pride. And if you can't do that, then you can't date Ruby."

"Dad!"

"No, buts, Weiss. I've made up my mind. You are to have no interactions with Ruby, other than talking to each other. None of what I just saw happen today. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, father."

"The only way for you to date, is either you fire her, or step down from your chair and let either Whitley or Winter take over the Vale head base."

Jacques left and Weiss was there, standing alone in the house. Her father nor brother were to return. Winter was supposed to be coming home in less than an hour, but since she was traveling all the way from Mistral, it was going to be a long trip. When Winter did return, she found Weiss sitting alone, in the dark.

"Sister, what happened?"

"Dad's what happened."

"Please tell me, Weiss. I can't read your mind."

"Dad caught me with Ruby. He told me that I can't date someone who's working for me. And the only way we can date is for me to fire her, or I step down."

Winter sighed and shook her head, "Father can be hard to deal with sometimes, Weiss, but you either want to save the company, or save your relationship. Let me ask you this, do you love Ruby will all your heart? And do anything and everything for her?"

"Of course I would. What kind of question is that?"

"A question only you can answer from your heart and head. Also, I am going to be moving to Mistral, so I'm closer to work."

"I'm going to miss seeing you here, Winter."

"As will I, but don't worry, I'll come and visit."

"When are you moving?"

"Tonight. I just came here to say goodbye."

"Goodbye, Winter."

"Goodbye, Weiss."

They hugged and Weiss saw her sister leave. Now, there was no one for her to talk to in this lonely and cold place.

~1 month~

"She hasn't spoken to me since a month ago," I said to Yang as I was folding my clean clothes and putting them away.

"I know you told me what happened, but why hasn't she made a choice yet?"

"I don't know! I know how she loves working for the company, but she also loves our relationship. Every time I look at her, I just want to hug her and never let go. I haven't had a decent cuddle since a month ago, Yang! I miss being with her."

"I know you are, but you have to give this situation time."

I sighed, "I know. How are things with Blake and the new apartment."

"Great. Blake found a job and we couldn't be happier."

"I'm glad your relationship is working out."

"Ruby, Weiss will come around. Knowing from experience I had with her back at Atlas, she is going to come around."

"I just hope it's soon."

"These things take time. I'm pretty sure she's still healing from the wounds her father caused."

"But I want to be there to heal with her. Not only is she hurting from her father, she's causing someone she loves to be hurt by her actions! And she's probably hurt from seeing me hurt!"

"I'm going to leave you alone, Ruby, so you too can heal. Don't worry, Weiss will come around."

She left and I sat on my bed. I stared at the picture that was my desk. It was of her and I at Christmas time. It was a nice photo Yang had taken for us. I smiled and slowly, that smile turned into a grimace. My jaw clenched and I pulled back my lip. I put the palm of my hands on my eyes, tears coming breaking through. After a few minutes, I got up and pulled out the sweatshirt Weiss had made for me. On the front was the rose I associate with. My emblem, my mom's emblem. On the back was her emblem comined with mine. A smile slowly crawled onto my face as I slipped into the sweathshirt. I laid onto my bed and stared at the blank spot. I wanted Weiss to be there with me. To comfort me in the time I need her.

"I need you, Weiss."

I sighed and imagined she was there, "I love you."

Somewhere, out by the company, was a lonely girl lying in her bed. Her hand was at the empty spot beside her. She too imagined her lover was resting beside her, wanting her to comfort her in her time of need.

"I love you too, Ruby. I will always need you," Weiss whispered.
