House Vaughan is one of the High Houses of Westover. It rules over the Lowlands from Castle Deerfax.
It's current head/lord is Lord Jarret Vaughan. His heir is Lord Cleavon Vaughan. His other children (in order of age) are: Lord Irving, Lord Ricker, and Young Lady Magge.
House Vaughan's heraldry description:
A dark green stag amidst a flaming field of orange.
Motto:
Flames dance around us.
Physical Features of a Vaughan:
Orange hair, green eyes, light olive skin.
Personality:
The Vaughans are a proud House and somewhat belligerent. They take pride in their orange hair as they are the only High House that features it. As well as belligerent, they are somewhat greedy. Having been the last Royal House, they are known to want that title back. Their favoured weapon is the axe.
History:
During Jordan Talvace's rebellion, House Vaughan supported King Robin Ferinn. However they were a small, unknown House at best during that time and so when Jordan became king, he did not punish them in any way. Seeing how the new king was fairly 'green', they saw an opportunity to become higher by giving the king five thousand men during the Dragon Campaigns. They were some of the last men left by the end of the campaigns and King Jordan noted it, giving House Vaughan the southern third of House Talvace's territory and the title of High House
