House Thaon is the only surviving Low House of Westover. It rules over the Islands of Kit from Garwater.
Its current head/lord is Lord Lanford Thaon. His heir is Lord Arthur Thaon. His other children (in order of age) are: Lady Breena, Young Lady Marden, Young Lady Rosa, and Young Lady Anice.
House Thaon's heraldry description:
A grey sea serpant in a dark blue sea.
Motto:
The Sea is Ours
Physical Features of a Thaon:
Light brown hair, brown eyes, fair skin.
Personality:
Thaons are considered by all, save themselves, rude. They are often blunt and quick to speak their mind to anybody. Thaons are also usally pragmatic. Perhaps these two traits could make one seem rude, but you want somebody pragmatic on your side during a war and somebody who will tell you what everybody is thinking. Perhaps this is why during many wars they have been asked to join both factions.
History:
Very distantly related to House Talvace, House Thaon became a Low House during King Richard Cardon's reign when Lord Jon Thaon (the head of House Thaon at the time) significantly aided Westover in a war against Icekirt. He did not have any men to give, but was extremely intelligent and helped strategically. Some say if it were not for this one man, Westover may have been lost.
During the Destiny Century, when House Vaughan ruled, House Thaon managed to keep their land by warding off any army that came to attack by ship (namely House Vaughan and House Cardon) by having a special type of oil spread thickly on the water around all islands and setting fire to it by firing blazing arrows. When House Talvace came to power, the new king ceased all attacks on the last remaining Low House and even gave House Thaon gold and soldiers as compensation.
