The Puppeteer's Assistant

Chapter 5: His plan all along..

It was weeks upon weeks later, and Vanessa had a pit in her stomach ever since that day when her and the Puppeteer danced the night carelessly away. She lied there on her bed asleep, hugging herself tightly and hoping the feeling would go away soon. Then suddenly, there was an unexpected knock on her door..

"Wh.. Whaaat??" She quickly sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Hello..? Vanessa, are you awake..?" A voice asks. Vanessa got up out of bed and rushed to the door, opening it to be surprised by Sebastian just standing in the doorway. "Sebastian..?" Vanessa questions. "What are you doing up? It's four o'clock in the morning!!" "Shh! Hush down now, will ya? This is important!!" "Okay..?" Vanessa says in a whisper. "Well, what is it that you want..?"

"There's something I need to show you. Just.." Sebastian takes a hold of Vanessa's hand and pulls her along. "Follow me.." "Um, okay.." They eventually reached the room where Vanessa has surprisingly never been in. It was the attic; a place forbidden for her to go. 

"Are you sure.. This is a good idea..?" Vanessa asks quietly. Sebastian sighs in frustration and turns toward her. "Of course! I know what I'm doing..!!" He raises the curtain, revealing what was behind it. There on the wall was a whole diagram, charts, and so many ideas for plans. Vanessa stared at the wall and studied it carefully; in astonishment. 

"Wow.. This is.. Crazy.." Vanessa looks back at Sebastian. "What does this all mean..?" "It means.. That he's plotting on using you to his advantage!" He exclaims, taking out a file and handing it to Vanessa. "This.. This shows everything he was planning of doing to you all along.." "I don't get it.. Why would he do this..?"

"Look Vanessa, it's time someone stepped up and told you the truth about things here. It just can't be hidden any longer." He places a hand on her shoulder. "Let's face it. You barely know anything about this man except for the fact that he slaughters people, makes puppets and all kinds of toys of all sorts, is a good dancer, and doesn't go out often. He's hidden the fact that he's a pure villain; slaughtering his victims just to put they're souls into puppets to use to take over the world. Oh and when he was flirting with you..? Why, he was only planning on using you to make into his Marionette.. Heck, I'm surprised you didn't take suspicion to him slaughtering people from the start.."

"I did, it's just that.. I was too scared to question him about it.." Vanessa says sadly. "So he was just planning on making me his puppet all along, huh.."

"Yeah.. Which is why you need to get out of here..! You need to go out and find a weapon to defeat the Puppeteer with!!" Sebastian says. Vanessa tilts her head in confusion.

"A weapon..??"

"Heyy~" Puppeteer's voice echoes from downstairs. "Where are you two~?"

Sebastian waves his arms frantically. "A-ah..!! He's looking for us! Go hide!" "But wait! What is the weapon??"

"Okay- I don't know what type of weapon it is, or where it's located.. But I do know that it's something that can defeat the Puppeteer with from what I've over heard!!" Sebastian starts to shove Vanessa towards the closet "Now go! Hide quickly, before he catches you!!"
