I honestly hope that eleven and max become best friends in season 3 because max is the only other girl her age that el has met like she has nancy and joyce to look out for her and be a sister and mother figure in el's life but I feel like she also needs someone who's figuring everything out like she is, someone who doesn't have the greatest family but is fighting back, someone who will look out for someone they just met I want them to have their own inside jokes and report back after a date I want el to be the only person max will let play with her hair and I want max to teach el how to skateboard and introduce her to the arcade and for them to just be there for each other in a way the boys and hopper and Nancy and Steve and Joyce just cant because they're not 13-14 year old girls, they don't necessarily understand what el and max are going through perfectly, so they lean on each other for support, they help each other feel normal
