Hi I hope you enjoy the next chapter!

The car approached a run-down white wood house. Birch trees dotted the front yard and as paved side walked winded around the driveway and to the front door. I slammed the car door and adjusted my black N.Y.P.D. vest. I squinted in the midnight darkness at something on the porch. I started walking ever so slowly towards it.
“Hey, Olivia.” Nick called “I thought we were waiting for backup.”
I turned and waved my arm dismissively, then began walking again. I approached the house and spotted a container on the ground and a note on the door. On the brown welcome mat stood a single, sterile cup filled almost to the brim with blood. I didn’t need to question what or who that blood came from.
“Amanda.” I sighed, lifting my head up to the note.
It was typed, big enough font, and was completely normal except for a few tears here and there. But sadly, its words were not normal.
“So, you cops got worried about your friend. Understandable. Don’t worry, she isn’t dead quite yet. Follow my clues and maybe you’ll find her alive.
Clue # 1 – Don’t run too far detectives. Help will come in your home field at 2:07am. That’s only a couple hours away, isn’t it?”
“So, we have a creepy kidnapper on our hands” Nick announced. I jumped around, unaware of the two detectives’ presence.
“Do you really think that’s her blood though?” Fin questioned, looking slightly queasy.
“There’s only one way to find out.” I answered. “Let’s get back with the container and note and run them. We can decide where to go from there.”
2 hours later, I swiveled my chair around hoping Nick or Fin had found something useful. The dull and emotionless looks on their faces suggested they hadn’t. I groaned and threw my pen down, completely fed up and upset about the situation. I glanced at the clock and realized there was only 20 minutes until our next clue was supposed to arrive.
“It kills me that we’re sitting here and she’s out there with some creepy dude, who may or may not be crazy.” Fin said, coldly and suddenly.
“Me too.” Nick agreed “But what hurts me more is the fact that we have absolutely no leads until this guy comes.”
“Yeah.” I added, just trying to sound semi-supportive and not letting them see I was an emotional wreck on the inside.
My phone chimed in, filling the silence and I unlocked it, my eyes meeting a new text.
“The blood is Amanda’s and there are no prints on the container or the note.” I announced.
“Damn. He sure is a careful cleaner.” Nick said.
I nodded in agreement and looked to Fin. His eyes were open wide and he was zoning out, lost in thought.
“Hey Fin, you okay?” I asked gently.
He nodded a yes and asked me the question we all wanted the answer too. “What’d he do to her to get that much blood that quick?”
“Don’t overthink it. She’s fine, I’m sure.” Nick responded, sounding pretty convincing.
“Yeah.” I added, accepting the fact that if I was half as convincing as Nick, my words would sound the way they were intended to in my head.
Suddenly, my desk phone rang. I picked it up, running down the list of people who would call me this early in the morning.
“Flowers at the front door.” A vaguely familiar security guard’s voice told me.
“Um… thanks?” I answered, flustered by the fact that flowers were waiting for me. I hung up the phone, and turned to face the other 2 detectives.
“What was that Liv?” Fin asked, noting my confused look.
“Flowers?” I responded, more or less asking a question and not making a statement.
“Cassidy?” Nick asked, unable to hide a wisp of annoyance from coming out. Let’s just say… my boyfriend and my partner won’t be meeting up and solving crimes together soon. I smiled at the thought of Brain Cassidy, my now-on-again boyfriend. His chocolate brown eyes, his barely there beard…
“I don’t think so, but I wouldn’t put it pass him.” I replied, pulling myself from my brief fantasy.
Nick rolled his eyes, letting his annoyance completely show and asked Fin to go to the vending machine with him.
Fin smiled for the first time in a couple hours and responded. “Sure. Let’s leave Olivia to her love fest.” He directed that last sentence toward me, using an annoying mocking tone.
I rolled my eyes and slightly giggled at his remark as I opened my desk drawer. I fished around, finally finding my item of choice, a red hair tie.
“Olivia Benson.” A voice spoke from behind me.
“Yeah, that’s me.” I answered, turning to face the person while still adjusting my hair.
I was met by a blur of orange and red flowers, black clothing poked out from the sides of the lovely bouquet.
“Who?” was all I managed to get out before a sharp pain filled my stomach.
“Ah!” I yelled, stumbling backwards and knocking over a pile of unfinished paperwork. I shook my head and tried to hit the person back. Sadly missing, I stumbled forward this time, being yanked by my hair.
“Aghhhh!” I yelled in pain.
The glass flower vase shattered and flowers lay in a heap on the floor. Footsteps ponded and echoed in the hallway. One final punch was thrown at me and, in pain, I tumbled to the floor. Darkness swam in front of my eyes and I slowly felt myself losing consciousness.
