I fluffed up my hair, and looked at myself in the mirror. I felt hands slide around my waist, and I closed my eyes in ecstasy.
"You look beautiful." James whispered in my ear. I chuckled and turned around in his arms.
"We're just going to the library, you know."
He smiled, and kissed my nose. "Either way, you look beautiful. As always."
I smirked. "Well, what about you? You're not so bad yourself, Mr. Franco."
He laughed, and ran one hand through his hair. "I know that. But it means alot more coming from you."
I rolled my eyes, as I grabbed his hand. "Let's go. We have some research to do."
I grabbed my bag, and we walked out of his apartment, to his car. He opened the passenger side door.
"M'lady." James said, gesturing toward the seat of the car. I chuckled, putting his arm down for him.
"We're past this, aren't we?" I kissed his cheek, as he started to pout.
"I was just being a gentlemen.." he mumbled.
I laughed, grabbing his hand. "Aww. Just get in the car." A smile played at his lips, as he walked around to the driver's side.
I got into the car, and smirked at him.
He looked at me with a mixture of adoration and disbelief. "Man, I love you.." He chuckled.
I grabbed his hand. "Love you too. Now come on, let's drive."
******
Silence loomed over us as James and I walked into the library. People were reading books and magazines while sitting on soft couches, and college students were typing away on their laptops.
I lead James over to the set of library-owned computers, and we sat down. I logged in as a guest, as did James. I took a deep breath, and looked at him.
"Where should we start?" I asked.
"Well, my dear, Google is a great search engine.." he replied.
I laughed, earning a glare from a man sitting in front of us. I put my hand over my mouth to control my self.
"What's so funny?" James asked with a cute smile.
"I just wasn't surprised that you said that. I figured you would. You're so adorable."
We looked at each other, and my heart couldn't stop pounding. "Let's just use Google.." I said after a moment.
We both typed in the website, and we were off and running.
2 hours later, we hadn't found anything. I was starting to get discouraged, and James could tell. He grabbed my hand, and kissed it.
"It's okay. We'll find something. Let's just keep looking."
I sighed, and turned back to my computer screen. I scrolled down the feed, until i saw a headline that caught my eye: 'RESTAURANT UNDER WRAPS'.
I looked at James in shock, then turned back and clicked on it. It was like a luck of the draw that the article was about Tony's.
My eyes scanned the article, and my heart was pounding out of my chest.
"This can't be true.." I mumbled.
"Katie, it says that Tony's is associated with the mob...Holy shit.."
I took a deep breath. Holy shit is right.
