Katie's POV
I was so ecstatic. James was coming home today. I couldn't wait. I had missed him so much. We had texted, and occasionally Skyped, but it was nothing compared to seeing my love in person.
I was still working at the City Bistro and Bar, and things with Liam were normal. We were friends, and he respected what I wanted. At this point in my life, I felt really successful. I liked working at the restaurant, and not because of Liam. Because I felt really independent.
I didn't want to be James' assistant. I was no longer acting co-dependent. I was proud of myself.I walked out of the shower, and to my closet. I had to work for a few hours today, and then I had to pick up James from the airport, and then we had dinner plans.
I threw on my work clothes, and pulled my hair back into a ponytail. I grabbed my phone and bag and walked out to my car.
"Hey, Katie." Liam greeted me as soon as I walked in the door.
I smiled, "Hey. How are you?"
Liam smirked, "Better, now that you're here."
I rolled my eyes. "Liam, stop it. You know how I feel about the flirting."
Liam crossed his arms, sighing. "Okay, okay. I apologize. I'll be quiet."
I let out a short laugh. "Thank you."
I walked behind the counter. "Now let's get this over with."
Liam laughed, "What's the rush?"
I smiled wide, "James is coming back today. I have to pick him up from the airport in a couple hours."
"Is that so?" Liam responded.
"Yes, I'm so excited."
~~~I was gripping the wheel so tight that my knuckles were turning white. I couldn't drive to the airport fast enough.
I drove down the highway, and took the exit to the airport.
I pulled up alongside the curb, and put my car in park.
I got out, and stood next to the car.
My eyes searched every person, every crowd, looking for James.
After a few minutes of looking, my eyes finally landed on a familiar mop of hair.
I felt happy tears come to my eyes as I raced over.
"James!!!!" I exclaimed, jumping into his arms, which caused him to drop his suitcases.
He smiled, his dimples appearing, and kissed me.
I wrapped my legs around his waist as he held me.
"Katie, I missed you so much, babe." He said.
I giggled, wiping away the tears.
"Come on, let's go home."
I grabbed his hand, and one of his suitcases, and walked to my car.
As I threw the first one in my trunk, I felt hands slink around my waist, and spin me around.
James pushed me against the car, gently.
He stared into my eyes, a smirk on his face.
His hands explored my face.
"Is it possible that you got more beautiful within 2 months?"
I laughed, "I don't know, is it?"
James' sweet laugh rang out, "I think it is."
His hand landed on my chin, forcing me to look into his eyes.
I searched his eyes, and found love.
He kissed me.
"I love you." He spoke after we pulled away.
I smiled up at James. "I love you too."
~~~~
"So, we have a couple hours until our dinner reservation--" I started, throwing his suitcases on the floor of our bedroom.
I turned around, right into James' arms. "--what do you wanna do?"
James smirked, his hands caressing my body.
"I have a few ideas."
I giggled, as James kissed me.
His kiss was passionate, and wanting, and I was willing to give him what he wanted.
I hadn't seen him in two months.
James' fingers slid under my shirt, gently pulling it off.
I bit my lip, as I fingered the button on his jeans.
He pulled off his shirt, and I ran my hands up and down his chest.
"Wow, I missed this..." I whispered.
James smirked, making my insides flutter.
We started to kiss again, as his hands slid my work pants down swiftly.
As James hovered over me, in between my legs, I undid his jeans, and he kicked them off.
James ran his hands down my bare stomach, his fingertips touching my underwear.
I smirked, and positioned myself so he could slide them down.
A couple minutes later, we were both fully naked, and there was not an inch between our bodies.
By my level of ecstasy, it felt like James had never left.
~~~
I finished my hair, just as James came out of the bathroom.
"You ready for dinner?" He asked me with a smile.
"Yep. Let's go." I grabbed my bag and followed James out to the car.
He grabbed my hand, and kissed it softly.
I smiled happily, and got in the car.We arrived at the restaurant about twenty minutes later.
The hostess lead us to a table, and we sat down.
I smiled in thanks at her.
We started looking at the menus, when James spoke,
"Order anything you want. It's on me, baby."I looked down at the menu, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye.
I looked up, and there was a guy, a customer, reading the local newspaper.
What I was staring at was the picture on the front page, and the headline.
'FRANCO CAUGHT WITH NEW GIRLFRIEND ON SET OF HIS NEW MOVIE'
I felt tears fill my eyes.
The girl in the picture wasn't me.Abruptly, I stood up.
James looked concern. "Katie, what's wrong?"
Without a word, I stormed out of the restaurant.
Fuck it. I'll walk home.
I was almost halfway down the street, when I felt a hand on my arm.
I yanked away, and turned to face James.
"Katie, what the hell happened?!" His shocked face made me chuckle.
"Nothing. Nothing at all. Except for the fact that there was a nice little picture of you on the front page of the newspaper."
James didn't respond.
"With another girl." I said.
"Katie, I can explain--" James started to say, but I held up a hand.
"I don't wanna hear it. Did you sleep with her?" I asked.
James was silent, looking down at his feet.
"Yes." He answered quietly.
I felt the tears sliding down my face now.
"So everything you said, was a lie? You don't love me! And to make matters worse, oh my god, I slept with you!! And you've been with another girl! Wow, don't i look stupid? Is that what you wanted? Huh?"
"No, Katie, it's not-"
"Don't follow me. I'm getting some of my things, and I'm staying somewhere else. I don't care where. Anywhere, but with you. You said you changed, man, did I fall for a good trick."
"Katie-" James tried to grab my hand.
"Don't. I was faithful to you, even though this guy tried to get me to cheat, I didn't. You know why? Because I'm in love with you. I guess that was my mistake."
I turned around, and continued walking down the street.
I could hear James yelling my name, for me to stop.
I ignored it.
I wiped away a tear.
I should have known better.
Guys like James are especially good at keeping secrets.
A/N let me know what you think. Aww, I feel bad for Katie. Comment, vote! xx
I'll update again sometime this week.
