Shimmer: Journey To Death

Battling the King of the Underworld

     As soon as he lunged at her, I was filled with adrenaline. Everything slowed as I took my bow off my back. I drew and strung an arrow. I took a deep breath, aimed, and let the arrow loose as I exhaled. It sailed straight at Hades. It made its mark right between the eyes. He crumpled midair and fell to the ground stunned.
      I ran over to Ley. She had fallen to the ground and had two of her daggers raised. Her eyes were unfocused with terror. It scared me because I didn't think of her as a scared person. I thought of her as someone who was strong, independent, funny, and insanely beautiful. It hurt me to see her so scared.
     As I pulled her onto my lap I was hit in the side. It knocked all the breath out of me and Ley was gone again. There was a heavy weight on top of me and I felt a heavy blow to my face. I felt another one and felt an immense pain as my nose was broken. I brought my knee up and heard a groan as the weight left. I scrambled upwards into a standing position. I lifted my arms into a defensive position as Hades stood. He was starting towards me when he was hit in the side by a large white bull. He was picked up by a giant, human-sized white bat and dropped onto the horns of the bull. Teigra was playing a song that invigorated us and made us faster but obviously slowed Hades. A thunderbird dive bombed Hades and discharged electricy into his body as the bull threw him off. A giant mercurial lynx was weaving in between the attacks and dragging furrows in Hades's skin. They leaked mercury. I came back into focus and grabbed my bow, shooting arrow after arrow at Hades as he tried to dodge. Marmalade and Shimmer tag teamed him, taking turns slashing him with hoof, claw, and talon. Goliath glared at him from a distance and Odysseus breathed blue, white, and black flames at him. Luna charged, gored, bit and poisoned Hades. All in all, he was outnumbered and overpowered.
     He was close to death. I didn't understand how I knew. I just felt it. Hades was kneeling at my feet, held in place by Goliath's tentacles. The suckers were razor edged and they cut into his skin as they tightened around him.
     "Are you going to kill me now? Just do it. Your girlfriend was right. I have been down here too long and I have lost my mind," he said. He started to sob. "I used to hate squirrels. They were so tiny and ugly and they had this evil look in their eyes. I loved ducks. So beautiful when they flew. So calm and peaceful. Please kill me. Send me back to the lands of my old life. The lands of my dreams. I don't belong here anymore. Please. I didn't mean what I said before. Just take over. I can't take it anymore," he pleaded. I nodded. "Shoot me through the heart," he whispered. I strung and arrow, aimed, and shot, killing the Lord of the Underworld.

Hello land sharks. Hope you liked it. I honestly feel kind of bad for Hades, but not really. He was gonna kill my baby.
