"Suzume-san!"
I hear the familiar voice across the hallway; I turned to him "What is it?" I asked.
The hallways were filled with scattered busy students. The school festival will commence just few days from now so everyone was in a hurry finishing all the preparations.
"Are you walking home after this?" Ryuu asks bashfully,
"Yes, but I don't want you with me" I flat out said and turned to walk away.
"Suzume!?!" he hollers like a child, "You agreed you're already my gir— !"
My body abruptly turned around and bolted my hand like a claw against his mouth as if trying to catch a fly.
I narrowed my eyes looking at him as he was smiling teasingly.
And then, I released him.
"Super Suzume reflex— check! Attention on me— double check!" he sang.
"What is it that you want?" I grumbled, trying to look around if someone is watching.
"Let me walk you back after school. Just say yes and I'll be out of your hair, ma'am!"
I sighed, "You won't take no for an answer so just go ahead" I swayed my hand and was about to turned around,
"I'll wait for you by the gate!" he says,
"Shuuusshhh!"
He laughs and grins widely before running off the opposite direction.
I sighed. That kid will get me in trouble at this rate.
------
It was already dusk when I was done with all my work. I got up from my desk and took my hand bag up, it was the one Ryuu gave me few days ago.
"I see you manage to persuade Ryuu to return,"
I turned around and saw the Headmaster.
I bowed my head down, "Good evening, Sir"
"I'm glad you succeeded. He also seems to be in good spirit lately." He stated as I slowly looked up at him, "I read you report, Suzume-sensei. I also believe he's ready to go solo. You did a fine job by being his mentor. I was right in assigning you with him."
"You honor me too much, Sir. Thank You"
"I will give him a mission for tonight. Starting today, you don't need to watch over him anymore. Thank you for your assistance, Suzume-sensei." He concluded, as he turned around and proceeded to the door, "And Suzume-sensei... I believe you should visit, Takashi-sensei regarding the parasite that you caught. I can see it's growing in a faster rate than the last time we met."
"I will, sir. Thank you"
He sighs deeply. "Suzume-sensei... Thank you for your services. You had done very well for all these years."
