Chapter 3: The Longest Four Hours Of My Life

It took an hour to explain what happened with Severus and I. My parents were mad at first but started giggling and said it was fine for me to meet Severus tomorrow. Then they left chuckling and whispering about young love. I laughed silently at them. I didn't love Severus. Or do I?

Petunia got grounded for calling me a freak. Which I'm fine about she's not really my friend anymore. But she was really mad because she has to cancel her date with her boyfriend Vernon Dursley.

After I shared my story it was dinner time. We ate in silence, taking in today's adventures. We then gave Tunney her gifts, ate cake, and went our separate ways for the night. My parents went to the living room to watch a movie, Petunia went to the kitchen to call Vernon, and I went up to my room.

I was really bored so I brought out my sketch book. I'm not a good artist but everyone insists that I am. I just draw when I'm bored or have inspiration. So I opened it up and sketched a view of the maple tree by the lake. I changed my mind and turned the page and started to draw Severus. With his mismatched clothes, silky smooth wavy black hair, and his dark meaningful eyes. I finished and started to doodle his name around the edges of the page. I herd footsteps behind me. "Is that him?"

I looked behind me and saw my mother sitting on my bed. I sighed, "Yea that's Severus. So yea, I'm kinda tired I think I'm going to go to bed," I said to Mum.

"Okki Dokki, night Lils," she answered.

"Night mum," I said sleepily. I was kinda tired but I didn't want to talk about Severus. When I told my parents about our talk, I kinda left out the whole 'I'm a wizard' thing. So yea, they don't know. But I didn't want to tell them and have them get all freaked out over nothing, before I was absolutely, positively, totally sure it was all true.

I changed into a green tank and red yoga shorts and climbed into my bed. A million questions floated in my mind. Did I like Severus? Does he like me? Is he my friend? Am I really a wizard? Should I believe him? Who is he? I groaned at my racing mind and rolled to my side. I fell asleep thinking about him and seeing him again tomorrow.

My alarm blared. It was 10:00. Only four hours until my meeting with Severus. I walked over to my closet and changed into a tight fitted purple tee shirt and short jean shorts. I put on my purple watch and threw on my grey convers. I grabbed by sketch book, pencils, and reading book and walked to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and put my hair into a messy high bun. I ran down the stairs and grabbed some bacon and strawberries of the table. "I'll be out back," I yelled to Dad who was reading the newspaper in the living room. I rushed out the door, and ran around the side of the house to our backyard. I climbed up the ladder into our new tree house that Dad built for us earlier this summer. I sat down on the plush pink rug, and pulled out my sketchbook. I ate my breakfast while I finished my drawing of Severus, and started on another of how we met. It was sort of like a comic or a silent film. It was just highly detailed pictures. The first one showed the flower in my hand and the second showed Severus coming out of the tree stump. The third showed Severus making the maple leaf fly to my hand, and the last one showed us talking and walking back to our houses in the sunset.

I sighed at the pictures and looked at the time on my watch. 11:30, only 2 hours and 30 minutes 'till our meeting. I put down my sketch book and picked up my book. It was A Wrinkle in Time by American writer Madeleine L'Engle. My neighbor/friend Marlene, forced me to read it but after the first chapter I was hooked. It's just so funny how we can get hooked into books. I laughed at my thoughts about my obsessiveness and started reading. The next time I checked my watch it was an hour till our meeting. I groaned at how slow time goes when your waiting for something to happen.
