'Jason, What are you doing?"

I turned my head to the side and looked at Xavier, My best friend since I was two.

"Why are you even asking?" I asked him and he shook his head, looking disappointed.

" Man, I've known you since we were toddlers and I've never seen you this hung up on a girl. I mean c'mon! What happened to the player? The ultimate guy?" I stared at him for a second before rolling my eyes. "Fine. Whatever. Don't listen to the only one who's known you for 14 years." He got up and walked away from the picnic table we were sitting on outside of our school. I got up and followed.

"I haven't changed. It's just....SHE changed." I tried to reason.

"Yea, Yea. I've heard it before. I still don't buy it. I mean, yea, she grew out a bit more, long legs, soft brown hair, melted chocolate eyes, thin waist, nice boo -" I slapped him, forcing him to look at me. "OW! What was that for?!"

"Really?" I raised my eye brows in suspicion.

"Whatever man." I sighed and the bell went off, signalling the start to school at Alexandra McNoting High School

-Clair's POV-

Walking into the school, I was careful not to look behind me. Instead, I listened to Monique rant on about her summer and how hot the guys in California were. I nodded and smiled. She continued.

"Why can't we have boys like that here?! I mean...really?! Must we always have the ugly people...." She mumbled. I laughed.

"Not all of them are ugly." She looked up.

"Yea. I guess. I mean there's Max, and Tristan, and Xavier and Jason and -" I cut her off with my hand.

"I get. I get it." We laughed and walked to homeroom together after getting our books from our lockers.

"No, but really though. Have you even considered finding anyone this year?" She asked. I shook my head. "Gosh. Am I going to have to fix you up with someone? " I glared at her.

"No, Monique, you most defiantly do NOT have to 'fix me up' with someone. Gosh yourself" She rolled her eyes, smirking

"We'll see." She mumbled and the bell rang for the start of class.

.................................................................................................................

School droned on and I spaced out a little, day dreaming about what had happened in 8th grade.

*FLASH BACK*

-8th grade-

I looked up at him and he smiled at me. My heart melted a little just at the sight of him. Ocean like blue eyes, blonde hair that falls just perfectly into his eyes, sweet-kissable lips, fit body....I shook my self from my thoughts and looked at him.

"So you know I like you right?" He asked. I almost fainted...I swear, I almost did just at the words. But I didn't.

"Y-you do?" I asked and he nodded, smilling wider.

"So I was wondering if maybe...just maybe, you'd like to go out with me?" He asked, bitting his luscious lips. I smiled wide.

"I would love to." I answered.

But then I heard laughter. A lot of it. It turns out, I was being punked basically. His friends Xavier , Max , and Tristan walked out from behind one of the hall corners, all of them with their sl*ts and a couple extra popular people. I stood there, wide eyed, wondering what was happening. Jason looked down at me, grinning.

"I will NEVER like you. I will NEVER want to go out with you. And you...well... you'll NEVER be with any of us. So go on, cry and run back to your little posse of geeks." He spat. I just stood there and slowly turned around and walked out of the school and away from everyone there. I didn't burst out crying right there like you would expect. No, I waited till I was at home to cry. And did I ever cry...all night in fact. And it was all Jason Tirastin's fault.

*END OF FLASH BACK*

The bell rung out loud, signalling the start of lunch. I rushed out of my last class, running (basically) towards the cafeteria. Only to be stopped when I bumped into HIM. Jason. The guy I've been avoiding ever since grade 8. He had his hands wrapped around my shoulders, keeping me from falling right into him. I wiggled my arms free as he looked at me for a second, trying to figure out who I was. Then I saw it in his eyes. Remembering, recognization. Then, right before he could say anything to me and humiliate me any, I ran straight for the café. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding when I got in.

Monique's POV

I saw her rush in and instantly ran up to her, pulling her towards our table where Ethan, Izzy, Alise and Kyle were already waiting.

"Calm down. Deep breathe. That's good. Now, Tell Monique what happened." I said to her. She drew in a breath. And I already knew what happened. She saw, fall on, bumped into or was forced to talk to Jason. The sad thing was, apart from her and the people who had scared her for life, I was the only one who knew what happened.

She was still trying to calm herself when I put my hand up. "I know what happened. No need to worrie. It's okay Clair." The others looked at us like we had been attached and were now sprutting another head. 'Long story' I mouthed, hugging Clair. "Shh...calm down girl." I looked at her and shook my head. Now I'm going to have to re-do your make-up. Gosh. You puffed out your eyes and your cheeks are red. Why do you try to torture me? "I demanded, making her smile. "I don't mean to" She replies.

She looked around at our table and smiled shyly. "Sorry guys" She shakes her head. The group smiles like they know whats happeneing and that this is all normal. But then....
