Another Aussie one ;)

I saw headlights of a car slowly flood my driveway, It was Ethan. I made my way out to the car and as soon as I opened the passenger door, I heard his happy voice, which instantly cheered me up a small bit. I was really anxious about this party.

"Sah dude" He drew out the sah and pulled a stupid face, he knew how I felt about going to this party and was trying to distract me, which I appreciated.

"Hey, how are'ya?" I said. I'd lived in America for a few years, yet I only lost the smallest bit of my accent.

"Good mate" He'd started saying 'mate' in an aussie accent nearly every time he hung out with me. He was convinced he said it to mock me, but I kept trying to persuade him that my sayings were rubbing off on him.

"Do you have your inhaler?" Ethan questioned.

I grabbed it out of my hoodie pocket and showed it to him.

He nodded and pulled the gearstick into reverse, driving us to the party. I looked straight ahead the whole way there and I still had an off feeling about the party, but I tried to push it to the back of my head and tried not to let it ruin the night for Ethan. Ethan got out of the car and quickly came to my door to open it, and as soon as he opened the door, he grabbed my hand and led me inside the house. We were soon greeted by a few of our friends who then guided us to where a band was playing in the backyard. I'd heard that they were a small group trying to spread their name around.

As I walked outside, all I could focus on was the massive group of people and the loud music. This was definitely not my forte. I took deep breaths to calm myself down and stuck to Ethan's side like a magnet. He looked at me worriedly and mouthed 'are you ok?' to which I nodded my head in answer and kept walking to where our friends were leading us. My hands started shaking and my heart was beating at a rapid pace, why was I like this? I was going to ruin the night for everyone if I didn't calm myself down.

I sat on one of the plastic garden chairs that were in a circle to the side of the crowd, everyone knew I would have an extreme panic attack if I were to be in the midst of all these people. I played with my hands in my lap as Ethan and the rest of our friends went to get drinks from the eski (cooler) that was conveniently placed near where my friends wanted to sit. Lauren offered me a drink. She was the loud one of the group and was always the first to get drunk out of our friend group. I lightly shook my head to say no and she rubbed my arm up and down.

"You sure you're ok?" Lauren flicked her dark blonde hair behind her shoulder and rubbed her nude lipstick covered lips together.

"Yeah, just uh... I little anxious but i'll be good" I smile at her in reassurance.

"Mkay, grab me if you need me" She was my closest girl friend and i'd known her for a really long time, I loved her like a sister.

Alex, Dylan and Ethan were laughing hysterically when Amber fell over a garden chair trying to get a drink. She got up and punched them all on the shoulder, laughing with them. When Ethan got back, he rubbed my back and stood behind me. Alex, Dylan, Lauren and Amber all came to sit in the circle and chat, it was a comforting sight. I looked over my shoulder at the crowd again and the music started getting increasingly louder. I could hear every single beat as if the speaker was in my head, I could see every single person in the crowd as if I was amongst it and I could hear their feet crashing on the ground as they jumped up and down. I stared at all the people dancing, drinking and laughing. A massive wave of heat had crashed on me and I only then realised I could hardly breathe. My asthma certainly didn't help with these situations, it made it increasingly difficult to breathe and made me panic even more.
