You had only recently moved in to a new place. It was an isle, which most for some reason called it isle 3 or third isle. Well, anyway, you had moved in there, and were next to a bee lady. You had heard her name was Rumor Honeybottoms or something.
Then there was a captain you saw sometimes, and a mermaid lady. A giant junkyard was at the other side of the isle, as well as a loud train rail.
You were just wondering around the isle, not really having anything to do. Your apartment was all done, and you didn't have a job yet, so you could relax.
You went by the train rails and saw a doorway-like behind it. Carefully jumping over the rails, you made your way through. A large casino build up before you, and you were kind of amazed. There were cards over a "casino"-sign, and what you thought to be a devil. You walked in, since you had the legal rights and were bored anyway. And you were looking for a job, so maybe you could get one from here?
You walked in, and the smell of smoke and alcohol filled your lungs. You proceeded to walk forward, and looked around. You had been to casinos before, so you did know what was up. Everyone else was busy either playing at a table, or drinking.
"Ya new here?", a voice who sounded like he had been smoking for his whole life said from just beside you. You turned to see who it was, and it was a dapper man. He was a bit taller than you, he wore lavender, and he had a dice for a head. He had a smug grin, and you did admit, he did look hot in a way or another.
"Yeah. I moved here just recently", you said, and tried to sound confident as possible.
"Where did ya originate from? I'm guessing an angel like that would come from heaven", he winked at you. Your cheeks lit up.
"Ah well, this is an angel who would die for you", you flirted back. He was surprised by a comeback, but he laughed anyway.
"You're already catching on", he cackled. "What's yer name?"
"I'm just Y/N", you said.
"I'm King Dice, the manager of this casino, but call me Dice if ya will."
Nearly choking on your spit, you got embarassed. You were talking with the manager all along?
"But just because I'm the manager, doesn't mean you can't talk to me like a regular person y'know", he said almost as if he had read your thoughts. Were you really that readable?
"A-okay", you nodded, still trying to sound confident even though you were dying on the inside.
The day carried on, to the night. You had been there for a couple of hours, and had already made friends.
There was the Tipsy Troop, Chips Bettigan, Phear Lap, Mr. Wheezy, Mangosteen, Pirouletta and a few others. You had learned a few games with the help of King Dice, and you found what you were good at.
Cards.
As you got the cards in your hand, you were already the winner. And when handed a pack of cards overall, you could do all sorts of tricks. Even Dice was amazed.
You then saw people gather at a bigger table. You and Dice went to look, and there were two boys rolling dice. At the other side of the table was Lucifer himself. The boys looked to be winning, but for some reason it felt like there was something fishy going on. And you were ALL about how fair a game was.
"Boys, let's make a deal", the Devil said with a wide smirk.
"If you win, you will get aaall the loot in my casino, but if you lose, I will have your souls."
With a little to no thinking, the boy dressed in red agreed. The blue one seemed to understand the danger.
"Cuphead, no!", the blue one cried. This 'Cuphead' still rolled the dice, and got... Snake eyes.
"You lose! Now give me those souls!", the Devil roared.
"There must be another way, please!", both of the boys pleaded.
"Hmm, maybe there is..", the Devil thought. "Get me these soul contracts, and bring them to me. Then you'll be free from debt."
"Yes sir!", the mugs took the contract list the Devil offered, and ran off. Dice seemed to know that was going to happen.
"The Devil always wins", he said.
"Are you sure about that?", you asked with a smirk. (Memes intesifies)
"About 110%", he said.
"We'll see about that", you said. "Oi! Devil! I challenge you to a match of.. Blackjack!"
The Devil was pleasantly surprised.
"Even after you just witnessed me winning those two cups you still want to challenge me? Go on", he said. "Dice? Would you be the game host?"
"Of course", Dice smiled. He took a pack of cards from seemingly nowhere, but he gave us cards anyways. Aight, you needed to get a 21, and you now have 13. The great, unlucky number.
"I'll take", you said.
"I'll take too", the Devil smiled. He was very confident. But you were even more. You got a seven. You now had 20. Risk it, or not to? Yeah, you would.
"What's the bet here?", a skeleton yelled.
"There is none. I just want to beat him", you yelled back. Devil was amused.
"I'll take", he said.
"I'll take as well", you decided to risk it. You got the card, and...
You got the Joker card.
You basically won.
Or, it really depended on what the Devil had.
"Reveal your cards", Dice commanded.
"Ladies first", Devil said. You got the deck in your right hand, and threw it over your head, making a C shape. They were in the air just long enough for people to see, and without you even moving an inch, the cards landed on your left hand.
The Devil just revealed them the casual way, spreading them on the table. He had a total of.. 20.
You were mentally screaming of joy.
"Good game", Devil said, with the same smirk.
"Indeed", you replied. You handed the cards to Dice. You left the table to "cool off."
"It looks like I have been proven wrong", Dice admitted.
"That was pure luck", you sighed.
"Maybe", Dice chuckled. Wait. Did he sabotage the game? Eh, you weren't that surprised. As long as it was your win, it was fine, right?
"Are you gonna be the whole night here?", Dice asked. Yeah.. Were you?
"I'm not sure. I don't have anything, since I don't have a job or anything, I think it'll be fine", you said.
"Don't have a job? You could work here", Dice seemed to be delighted of the idea.
"But what would I do?"
"Watch over the tables or something, you are pretty good at rules."
After a little thinking, you nodded.
"We can ask Devil after this place closes. We have three workless hours here", Dice said.
"Okay. And when's the three hours?"
"From three to six AM."
You looked at the clock hanging from a wall, and it was 2 am. So an hour left. Phew.
