It was now 3 AM, and almost like little kids you and King Dice went to Devil.

"What's the matter?", Devil asked, lighting up a cigar.

"See, Y/N here doesn't have a job, and as you saw, she's pretty good at this type of business, so, I had a little idea you could hire her", Dice explained.

"Sure. She'll be in your room, if that's fine", Devil said with a laid-back attidute and he walked to a hallway leading to somewhere, probably his office or room.

"In other words, you're hired", Dice said.

"Yay!", you cheered.

"Come, my room's this way."

We walked through the same hallway that Devil went on but we turned right. Kek, Dice was Devil's right hand man, afterall. He mentioned that once.

Dice opened the door for you, and you saw a lavender-hue room. It was bigger than expected. It had a few tables, a window, and a queen-sized bed.

"Cool", you gasped.

"Glad you like it", Dice said. "C'mon, let's get some rest."

As you laid there, almost asleep, but you heard sobbing. Quiet sobbing.

"Dice? Something wrong?", you got up.

"A-ah, I thought you were asleep", Dice stuttered.

"You didn't answer my question."

"It's just- I-I-I'm sorry", Dice said and covered his face. "Now I've locked you in this literal hellhole too!"

"Too?"

"Yes! I've been stuck here for years! I'm sorry.."

"Please do explain."

You were quite surprised by the sudden outburst of Dice. He seemed so calm and collected.

"It started when I was a kid. I saw this little.. creature, who was abandoned on an alleyway. So, of course I took care of it. My parents have been missing since my birth, so I don't know what happened. I lived in the streets myself, but I kept on caring for this creature. Little did I know it was the Devil himself. Could you believe it, I'm actually older than him?", Dice laughed.

"Wait wh- Just carry on."

"Okay okay. So when he grew up, I still took care, but I didn't have any money. Being the good kid I was I didn't want to steal. So the only conclucion that came to my mind was to gamble for money. I went to a nearby casino, carrying Devil in a backpack, and he was influenced by the casino, too. We got money from there. We both had a dream to have our own casino. So as years passed, we did have. I wanted him to have fun so I lent him the lead. That was a mistake. Having the power, his mind got corrupted, he got self-centered, and I'm sure I don't matter to him anymore. Maybe he doesn't even remember the old times."

"Why are you staying here? Can't you just leave?"

"He has my soul contract. He could kill me right now if he wanted. I can't risk it."

"Why don't you get it back?"

"I'm too weak. He is truly a beast when he wants to be."

"That's not promising.. Why didn't he want my contract?"

"He doesn't want it yet. He wants to see if you're worth it."

From all of this, you came to a conclusion that Dice was trapped here against his will and the child he took care of turned against him.

"I don't even know who he is anymore. He is just a spawn of greed and powerhungriness", Dice sighed, and he wiped his eyes.

I needed to get Dice's contract back.

"Hey. It'll be fine. Trust me", you said. You either had to do this with or without him. "It'll be over in three days. You've got to trust me on this."

He was maybe too tired to question your wording of choice, but he didn't give any comments to your announcement.

"Okay", he then said, and laid back. You did too. Peacefully, you fell into not-so-peaceful sleep.

The next day you were ready to plan. The casino itself was nice. But knowing all that was going on.. It was rather disturbing.

After checking every table is fair and square, you got a pack of cards, and went to a counter. You swung the cards between you hand smoothly. Phear Lap looked from a little distance. You then tried to experiment something. What if you used magic with this? Like actual magic?

You got the cards in your hand, and tried to move them to your other hand. You were concentrating. Due to using too much magic on some cards, they turned pink. The pink however disappeared after it was on your other hand. This will maybe get handy someday.

You tweaked the trick a little bit, and made it so you hid the pack slightly underneath your sleeve, but still kind of held it with your hand. You made it look like your hand kinda steps around, and then you do the trick. It looks like a sick dance-off. You realised you should probably get up and do something instead of nothing useful. You checked the tables, and nothing special or different was going on. You saw Dice approach you.

"Has anything happened?", he asked.

"No", you said. You were fidgeting the cards in your hand and spread them to an even circle on your hand.

"Pick one", you said. You of course didn't see what he picked, but when he looked at what it was, you scrolled the cards back to a pack. You instructed Dice to put it on top of the pack, and you then divided the thing into two. You mixed them, and made them back into a circle. You took one.

"Was it this card?", you asked. Dice had pure amazement on his face.

"Yes", he said. You did that on random and you didn't even have a back-up-plan. You made them back into a pack, again, and you looked over at the craps table. The game was playing smoothly. You saw a certain flower looking at the table, too, who you knew.

"Cagney!", you said. The flower looked up, and sighed.

"You again", Cagney sighed.

"Don't be such a grump. I even moved closer to you, happy?"

"I guess. What are you doing in a place like this?"

"I could ask the same, but I work here."

"Oh. Have you recently hit your head or..?"

You laughed. Cagney had that subtle humor which stood out. He was a nice guy overall, even though he was very grumpy. But you knew he liked you, he just hid it well. Cagney looked over my shoulder to someone, and sent a death glare to that person. Cagney was quite aggressive, and he did have anger issues from time to time.. But you liked him anyway.

"And who might that dieguy be?", Cagney growled.

"I'm Mr. King Dice to you", Dice said himself. He had that fake calmness in his voice.

"Okay, mista', but keep your hands of-"

"Cagney, chill. He's not gonna do anything to me, and besides, you've seen me battle", you winked at the semi-furious flower.

"Oh yeah", Cagney smiled, as he remembered. Cagney way usually a fight partner of yours.

You could feel the jealous aura that came from Dice.
