When I got home I hopped out of the car and ran up to the porch. I unlocked the door and went into the living room. I turned on the TV on and flopped into the couch. I was about to change the channel to something I liked when something caught my eye. I rewound the program. It was about this guy that murdered a guy named Tyler.

The program showed a video of him on the street, [because it was a intersection] it showed Tyler running away from the person whom fell onto the ground. He was was perfectly still but right after he fell he started bleeding all over. Then the video stopped and this guy who was crying started talking, I guessed that he's a friend or brother or something. I rewound again and paused the program to the part where the guy was falling. My eye grew with fear, in the moonlight I saw a shadow. The shadow. The 3D shadow creature named Bane the Killer. I froze with the remote in my hand. What did this mean? I thought it was all just a dream.

Then my mom walked in, I hit play, and sat there and tried to act normal.

"Oh, so when did you get into-" my mom paused and looked at the screen, "murderers?"

"Oh. Um... well it was on and so. I couldn't find the remote," I said.

Yeah, go me! She always falls for that one. I looked down and remembered was holding the remote.

But with my amazing quick-ish thinking skills, I said, "Hey, what's that over there?"

She looked and I threw the remote out the window. Cliché, I realise, and a stupid way of getting rid of a remote. It's like getting mad at your computer and throwing it out the window.

"What? I don't see anything!" she yelled with her head out the window on the other side of the room.

"Oh um it was a... pink cat?" I babbled, wondering if she would buy it. She did.

"A pink cat, really? Wow that's cool, that's what you call it, right? Cool?"

"Yes, cool, Mom. But never say that something is cool. That's... that's just weird," I told her.

"So, um- I'm gonna go look up something in my room," I mumbled.

I rushed up stairs and into my room. I closed the door behind me and went over to my laptop. I went to the search bar and looked up Bane. That came up with some weird villain. So I looked up Bane the Killer, same stuff. So then I looked up Bane and Tyler. Then I got a whole bunch of information.

After a bunch of reading I came to this conclusion:

Bane was this super important guy in this business community thingy. And same with Tyler. Bane and some guy made a deal with each other with a lot of money involved and whatnot. But after they made the deal, someone, probably Tyler, backstabbed Bane, literally. Tyler somehow inherited all of the money that Bane owned. And it was said that Tyler killed the other guy in the agreement the next year. Tyler said he didn't but the film said otherwise.

I sat there in silence. What did this mean? Who was Tyler? I didn't know any more than the internet gave me. Well at least I've found out who Bane is, more or less. I thought for a moment, and I knew there was only one person who I could talk to.

I walked over to my door and stuck my head out

"Mom? When is Dad coming back?" I called out.

"You know he's not coming back in till tomorrow, I can't believe you forgot your still planning to have his surprise birthday party right? He has been gone for a month now," answered my mom.

The blood drained out of my face. Oh my god, my dad's birthday. How could I have forgotten?

"I'll be in my room!" I called back
