My ray of sunshine. My beautiful daughter, Carissa. She had taken over the world. And I had given her the information to do so. I stood there before her. She was surrounded by the people of this city, all of them dead. All the people around the world were dead. She took a step towards me.

"Carissa," I choked.

She thrusted a knife into my chest, pulled it out, and then put it in its sheath. Blood gushed out of me and splashed to the ground.

I fell to the ground, only barely alive.

"You are no father of mine," she said sternly.

As the people around her started to vaporize, a pink flume drifted from Carissa and disappeared. She fell to her knees and looked around. Everything was silent. She looked up, confused.

"What happened," she murmured.

"Carissa," I croaked.

"Dad!" Carissa yelped, running towards me.

"What happened to you?" she said, frantically trying to stop the blood.

I coughed, flecks of red appeared on her cheek. "It's pointless, sunshine."

"No," she said, choking on her words, "you're going to be fine!"

"Carissa, you're my sunshine," I told her.

She looked at me and was singing, "my only sunshine." Tears were rolling down her eyes.

"You make me happy," I sang, looking up and closing my eyes.

"When the skies are gray," she sang.

"You'll never know, dear, how much I love you," I said.

"Please don't take my sunshine away," she sang and paused to let me sing. When I didn't, Carissa sobbed even more but continued, "I'll always love you and make you happy. If you will only say the same. But if you leave me and love another, you'll regret it all someday."

I drifted off into blackness. There was no underworld now. Nothing for me to travel to. I just drifted, drifting into a dreamless sleep.
