I drove in silence as Carissa looked in that book of hers. I sighed, wondering how many laws I broke today. Too many. I glanced over at Carissa again. Her long brown hair flowing across her face. I looked back over at the road, my main priority. We drove forever. I drove forever. Too much law breaking. Too much driving. I cut the engine for the first time and got out.

"We're here," I told her.

"Finally," she said, closing her book and getting out.

"Over there," she said pointing at a fountain.

"Okay," I said, following her.

She climbed into the fountain and motioned for me to come too. I got in the fountain with her.

"You're lucky I like you," I told her.

"Yeah, whatever," she says barely even listening to me.

She took out a piece of black chalk out of her pocket and started to draw on the side of the fountain. I kind of just stood there smiling at people when they gave me weird looks.

"Are you almost done?" I asked, as if I actually knew what she was doing.

"Nearly," she said, "You just need to stand right there."

She moved me over two feet to the right. She moved behind me, whispering things under her breath. Her whispering got louder and I was tempted to look behind me but something made me stop. I had a terrible pain in my back. I gasped, feeling the blood gush down my back. I fell to my knees. I would've screamed out but my voice didn't work. I looked back at Carissa, my best friend. I had had a crush on her since the third grade. How could she? Her whispering became chatting fast. I fell on my face into the water of the fountain. The water, once coloured an artificial blue, was blood red. I was losing blood too quickly. I closed my eyes. Why would she do this? I felt tired and lightheaded. I exhaled and inhaled water. I couldn't get my head above the water. I was too tired to even thrash around. Darkness clouded my vision. My thought faded as my life flashed before my eyes. The last thing I saw was Carissa smiling at me. Carissa, the one who killed me.
