As clueless you are about friendships, you've managed well with her. She got to know you a little better, you got to know her a little more.

She's not perfect. She's petulant at times. She's smart but lazy. She loves chocolates and constellations and prefers science over math. She sometimes eats pancakes for dinner and she doesn't bother to eat some vegetables. She has flaws and instead of hating them, you found them endearing.

She knows you just as well. She knows your love for math and poetry. She knows that you named your dog Fibs in honor of your favorite mathematician, Fibonacci. She told you she loves it as much as she loves your dog. She knows that Snickers is the only chocolate that you eat. She always brings you a bar whenever she can.

She also knows how to calm you when you have panic attacks. She's always patient in calming you. She's seen your worst freak outs and still stayed.

She also managed to touch you without freaking you out. She said it was just about getting used to it. The more she held your hand, the better it felt. Sometimes, it's you who initiate contact. Your surprise hugs never fail to light up her eyes.

Being friends with her felt the most natural thing in the world. She understands you like nobody can. She accepts you and supports you in every way. She had been a blessing that you never expected.

"Ly, I just thought of something last night."

"Is it food?" That earned you a shove from her.

"I am capable of thinking of something besides food you know." She said defensively. You just raised your eyebrows at her.

"You can be mean at times. Anyway, you remembered last week when we were watching Guardians of the Galaxy?"

"Clearly, you ate cheese pizza topped with melted chocolate" You made a disgusted face as you remembered her eating the weird combo.

" Whatever, it was so good. Your loss. Stop judging my life choices. I'm trying to tell you something important." She said petulantly.

"What?" You raised your eyebrows in response.

"We're like Rocket and Groot!" She looks so excited as if she finally found the answer to the Reimann Hypothesis Problem.

You looked at her like she's crazy. You wouldn't consider it as something important.

"We're exactly like them. I'm Rocket, genius who talks a lot and your like Groot cause you're so gentle and talk so little. And they're the best of friends who would do anything for each other! You get it right? You're my Groot."

You don't really get why you got compared with a tree with little vocabulary but she looked so happy and you actually like the friend analogy so you smiled and nodded.

"Okay Rocket, you're as little as him anyway." She scowled at your insult about her height so you just gently pat her head and smiled.

You may not be an expert on friendships but you're certain that this one works. You may as well be Groot who's lucky to find her own endearing 'Little Rocket.'
