Song: War of Hearts by Ruelle
I slowly flutter my eyes open to be greeted by the bright sunlight, resting upon my face. I immediately shut my eyes closed again and groaned.
I hover my hand over my face as I cautiously open my eyes. I slowly rise up from the pillow and mattress that was once against my head and back, comforting me.
I swing my feet over the bed, my feet hovering above the floor. I stretched my arms and yawned. Since when did I leave the curtains open in my room?
Memories from last night started flooding back into my mind. Oh, right. I sigh to myself. I thought I would be a lot more happier to know that I found a mate but instead, it seems like I am depressed about the whole thing.
I reach for my phone that was resting on the nightstand that was on my side of the bed. As soon as I turned on my phone, I saw about 45 missed calls from my dad. Surprisingly, I only had one text from him that said, "Good to hear she is in good hands."
What? Did he talk to.....
No! He couldn't have, could he. Oh no! My life is ruined. And wait, my dad actually approves of this?
I unlock my phone and tap the message icon. I soon see that it was true. Blake was texting with my dad.
I seriously need to put in a password for my phone. I read through the whole conversation. Blake on the text, seems like this caring mate that every father wants for his daughter. He seems like this gentle and calming guy.
My dad appears to like him. If he only knew...
I soon start to hear footsteps coming towards our room.
I panic and quickly shut off my phone to turn around and see Blake standing against the doorway.
"You should really get a lock on your phone." He said as he stared blankly at me. I remain silent, captured into his alluring gaze. His emerald green eyes glowed in the golden sunlight. His hair was messy from when he slept.
Wait. Where did he sleep last night?
"Um, Blake?" I said meekly. He continued to stare at me with no change in emotion.
"Yeah." He said sharply, as if he was annoyed. One word can get him ticked off? Wow. Okay, well, two words. Sort of.
"Two questions." I started off as he rolled his eyes. "One, were you texting with my dad and two, where did you sleep last night?"
He leaned off of the doorway. He started walking towards me slowly, creating some sort of tension between us.
"Yes, I did talk with your father. I kept on hearing your phone buzz so I went to see who was texting very late at night. I saw your dad was concerned about you and if you were ok. I reassured him, telling him you were fine. I told him also that I was your mate. I didn't tell him who I was because that would just keep him up all night." He said, even closer to me than before.
He seemed to know the part that everyone feared him. Especially being their daughters mate.
"And where I slept last night? Well, in my bed of course." He said as he smirked, now only inches separating us. A horrified look soon appears on my face, making him snicker.
"Don't worry. I didn't try anything. And if I did...." He continued but drifted of and smirked.
"Ok, ew. I don't need to know what you were going to say next and don't ever need to know." I said scrunching my nose and pushing him away as he chuckled. I've never seen him laugh before like this. Whenever they show any kinds of photos of him, he is alway so stern and emotionless. It's nice to see him express some emotion.
