Chapter One
"Ahhhhhh! Get it out! Get it out! Ahhhhhh!"
"It's okay Janice, just look at me okay? Stay calm; take deep breaths, and WHERE THE FUCK IS DYLAN!"
"Dylan's still not here! Ahhhhhh," Janice' hand squeezes mine tighter than before and I bite my tongue to keep from screaming in pain.
"Okay Ms. Parker keep pushing you're doing great!"
"Don't tell me what to do," Janice screeches at the doctor.
"I can see the head Ms. Parker! Keep going!"
"Ahhhhhhhhh!"
"Dylan I'm going to kill you!"

"Lexi! Lexi! Lexi! Wake up! We gotta go!"
"Ugh, five more minutes Todd," I mumble into my pillow. Mmm, soft pillow...
"Nope, sorry Lexicorn, we gotta go-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah gotz downstairs while I get ready."
"Okey-dokey," Todd jumps off my bed and darts out my door.
I stretch my arms and wince when I hear my elbows and wrists crack. I get up and close the door so my brother knows not to come back into my room; my little brother, Todd, is only five but is a ball of energy that even I can't keep up with.
As I trudge my way into the bathroom connected to my room I take a look in the mirror and lift a piece of my tangled auburn hair and stare at with dull green eyes. "Ugh," my face scrunches up in disgust as I take in my just woke up look and decide to brush my teeth then hop in the shower so I can get ready for my first day back at school.
Once I'm out of the shower I hear a tiny banging noise on my door. "Lexi! Hurry Up," Todd calls from outside my door.
"Go bother dad or something," I mumble back as I dry my hair and let it fall in its natural waves. Don't get me wrong I love the little guy to death, but it's just too early for all this energy.
I walk to my nightstand and pick up my glasses that are just too big for my face, but I like them like that, and change into my white and dark blue baseball tee, black skinny jeans, and my Vans. I know fashionista over here, hold your applause. On my way out I grab my matching dark blue beanie from my dresser and my backpack. I walk downstairs to see my mom surrounded by a bunch of papers. Both my parents work as lawyers, so they are constantly working, but most of the time they take their work home with them so they have time to spend with me and Todd.
"Morning Mom," I say with a yawn and grab a mini pack of waffles out of the freezer and put them in the microwave.
My mother yawns back and picks up her coffee. "Morning, you excited for school girly?"
After I punch the numbers into the microwave I turn around to face her with a blank expression. "Yeah, I'm oozing excitement. Can't you tell? Yay back to school," I say in a dull voice. I really don't want to go back. It's too early for this! I am a nocturnal being, I should be excused. Plus it has people there; I'm not a people person. Yeah nothing says welcome back like slow walkers in the hallway, girls with squeaky voices, and creepy teachers. Whoo, welcome back.
My mother gives me a bright smile and pushes some of her fiery red hair behind her ear. "Whoa, don't sound so excited Lexi," I chuckle and return to the fridge to grab some orange juice.
"Lexicorn," I feel a tug on my shirt, "can I have some orange juice?" Todd asks from behind me.
"Sure thing Toad," I call him by his nickname I gave him when he was three years old when a toad followed him home after we all went to a nearby lake, and reach up to get his favorite Spider-man cup from the top of the cabinet. Yes I repeat the top of the cabinet. Did I mention that I'm 4'11? Well I am which is pretty short for a seventeen year old. I would always get teased for it, but now I just try to ignore the rude comments people make.
