Chapter 1

Nigella

"Ma'am, you can also see our very popular 'Elisa Pendant'. This is the last piece" The shopkeeper tells us.

"How much will that be?" I ask, politely.

"£48.41" She replies. I look at my older brother, Nathan and shake my head.

"We'll take that. Can you please pack it for us?" Nathan says to the lady. She nods and walks to the cashier and starts packing.

"We didn't have to buy that, you know" I sigh.

"I wanted to buy you one" He shrugs as we make our way to the cashier.

"Excuse me? Do you guys have the 'Elisa Pendant'?" A raspy voice rings through my ears. I turn my head to the right to see a very attractive boy standing beside me.

"No sir, sorry. The pendant is sold out"

"Damnit!" He mutters. "M-my niece has cancer and her last wish was to have an 'Elisa Pendant'. I tried to find it everywhere but couldn't find it. I really don't know what to do"

My heart ached to hear that. I looked at Nathan paying the money and taking the bag that had the pendant in it, in his hand. I gently take the bag from Nathan's hand and walk up to the boy who had his face in his hands. I tap on his shoulder making him look up at me. I notice he has incredibly beautiful green eyes that made my jaw nearly drop to the floor.

"I'm very sorry to hear about your niece. She doesn't deserve it. I bought the last piece of the 'Elisa Pendant' and I want you to have it" I put the bag forward, trying to hand it to him.

"You don't have to do that" He refuses.

"No please, I insist. It'd mean the world to me if you'd give it to her" I smile.

"T-thank you, so much. You know how much this means to me" He smiles back, wiping his eyes. "Um, would you like to come with me to the hospital my niece is in and give it to my niece, yourself? You don't have to if you don't want to"

"No, I'd love to" I grin.

"Okay, then. I'll take you there"

"Now?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Yeah, now" He nods.

"Alright. Can you please wait a minute? I'll be back" I say before running to Nathan. "Listen, that guy over there has a niece who is suffering from cancer and her last wish is to have this pendant. I'm going to the hospital with him to give it to her myself. I'll be back, by 5"

"Alright, be careful" Nathan kisses my forehead.

"I'm Harry, by the way" Harry introduces himself. His eyes stay on the road as he's driving.

"I'm Nigella" I say.

"Nigella Lawson?" He jokes.

"No, Nigella Winchester" I laugh.

"Was that your boyfriend?" He asks, out of nowhere.

"Who?"

"The guy who was with you"

"No bloody way! He's my brother" I grimace.

"Sorry about that" He bites his lip.

"It's okay"

There's a moment of silence between us before Harry pulls the car over I'm front of the hospital. He carefully parks it and them stops to look at me.

"I just want to thank you again for doing this" He says.

"You don't have to thank me Harry. It's an honour to do this" I assure.

"Let's go then"

Harry opens the door of his niece's hospital room, letting me in. I see a beautiful toddler laying down on the bed with hospital tubes sticking out from her body. My heart shatters into pieces to see her like this. She doesn't deserve this. She's too young for this. Harry pulls a chair near the child's bed and motions me to sit on it. I slowly take a seat. Her hazel eyes observe my every movement.

"Hello" I smile. "I'm Nigella"

"I'm Jillian" She smiles back.

"It's nice to meet you, Jillian"

"You too"

"Um, I brought you something that your uncle said you wanted for a long time" I say. I slowly take out the necklace from the bag and put it in front of her.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!" She squeals and throws her arms around me. I chuckle and wrap my arms around her pulling her into a tight hug.

"You're welcome, love" I grin. "Would you like to wear it now?"

She nods, eagerly. I open the hook of the necklace and put it around her neck, then I close the hook and let the necklace hang from her neck.

"There! You look absolutely gorgeous" I compliment.

"Thank you" Jillian blushes.

I just offer her a warm smile.

"Jillian, it's time for sleep" A nurse comes in.

"We should leave" Harry announces. I nod my head at him before turning to Jillian.

"I'm really glad you liked the necklace. But I have to go now, yeah? I'll see you soon" I kiss her cheek before getting up to leave.

"Bye" She waved at me as I wave back.

As I walk out of the room, I'm immediately pulled into a hug by someone.

"Thank you so much for doing this. You don't know how much this means to me" A girl sobs, as she hugs me tight. I hug her back.

"It was my pleasure" I say. The girl pulls back letting me get a look of her whole face. She has bleach blonde hair, hazel eyes and her face resembles to Harry's.

"Nigella, this is my elder sister and Jillian's mum, Gemma. Gem, this is Nigella" Harry introduces.

"Nice to meet you" I smile at her.

"Nice to meet you too" She wipes her eyes and sniffles.

"I have to get going but I'll see you soon"

"We're here" Harry announces as he pulls in front of my house. "Thank you, again"

"No problem. I'll see you later, Harry"

"Would you like come to the hospital another day?"

"Yeah, sure"

"We have each other's number, right?" He asks.

"Yes"

"I'll text you, then. Bye, Nigella"

"Bye, Harry"
