Chapter 11
The next day was as equally weird as the day before, almost all of the teachers looked different. Like today is change your style day. None of the teachers were wearing their glasses, they all got their hair cut, look spiffy and well groomed. And what's really weird, Coach Bishop wasn't drinking any water. He wasn't even breaking a sweat! Any he had a whole speech on how running helps the heart pump blood. It was really freaky. None of the teachers were themselves.
And the weirdest thing of all. Was my conversation with Jenni. She was not herself. She actually was flirting with me. Flirting. That's not real! Here is why. A:She has a boyfriend, B:She hates me, and C:She hates me!
"She was doing what?"
"She was flirting with me Mila. That's not Jenni. There is no way that's Jenni. I mean it was her, but it wasn't her. She would never flirt with me. Not even if I was the last man earth. Something weird is happening."
"Like what? What is your explanation for this?"
"I don't know. But something is going on."
"Well then, let's go find out."
"Wait. What do you mean?"
She turned around and ran into the hallway.
"Mila! Mila!"
She ran around the corner, heading to the girls locker room. I started to run to keep up with her. She was fast. When I rounded the corner, I saw Mila peering into the gym. I came up behind her and watched with her.
"Mila we could get in trouble if a teacher finds us. And we could miss attendance for period 3. We can't be spying."
"Oh my gosh! Kyle be quiet! The teachers haven't been doing attendance...... and we aren't spying. We are just watching without anyone knowing."
"That's spying!!!"
"Shut up! Look at Jenni and Kevin."
I look over and see Jenni and Kevin talking. She was being all flirty, just like she was with me. That was pretty normal. But I couldn't hear what they were saying. The cheerleaders and football players were all talking and I could hear nothing. Now that I notice every one in the whole gym was flirting. Including the principal and the gym teacher. And Jenni and Kevin are heading this way!
"Hide!"
"Where?"
"In the girls locker room, hurry!"
"I can't. I'm a boy!!"
"Come on!"
She grabbed my hand and ran into the girls locker room. Just in time. We ran to the last row and waited. We heard Jenni in Kevin walk in. Then Mila tried to go see what was happening. I grabbed her arm and mouthed "what the hell are you thinking?" and she replied by looking me right in the eyes and pulled me along with her. I didn't let go. And didn't know why, but I didn't. We stopped at the second row and tip-toed to the first row. We looked at what was happening. There was no sound coming from Kevin. He was up against the back wall with Jenni on top. She was biting his neck.
