"So... how are you?" Dorothy asked Finn while they were relaxing at a hidden coffee shop. There were plants served as decorations almost everywhere. It can be seen from the ceiling, on the wooden tables, around the drawers. The nature-themed aesthetic was refreshing to see.
"I'm good," Finn answered simply.
They were not talking for too long that it almost felt like years had passed, and the awkwardness felt so painful that Dorothy wanted to do her little dance to make the atmosphere lighter.
But she couldn't and would never attempt to do so. The guy she's with was Finn. The intimidating Finn.
"Please be a normal human being for once who holds normal conversations," Dorothy thought to herself.
"How's your coffee? I-Is it good?" Dorothy asked.
"It is."
"Oh, that's good..."
"How about yours?"
"Uhm. Good."
"Good... that's good..."
"O-Okay. Good..." Dorothy almost choked on her coffee because of the awkward atmosphere.
Finn was grinning in his mind. He knew her feelings too well. Her body language was too transparent. Her words, her eyes, her face, too transparent. Also too beautiful. He thought.
While watching Dorothy, Finn wanted to smile so bad. He remained calm but a little smirk didn't escape his lips. He's glad Dorothy didn't take notice since she's too busy holding her coffee mug. He noticed her hands were shaking that her cappuccino created waves.
"Is it the coffee?" Finn raised his brow.
"H-Huh?"
"You're shaking so much. Is it the coffee?" The playfulness didn't escape in Finn's tone.
Dorothy almost choked on her coffee again.
"Y-Yes..." she squeaked.
"Okay, then." Finn laughed this time. She's too much. Too adorable. He couldn't help it.
Dorothy's already reddened cheeks burned more but her heart felt lighter. Maybe because Finn's laughter was out of this world. It was heavenly. It was a dream. It was enough to make everything radiant. It was enough for the burdens to disappear.
Dorothy laughed as well entangling with his. The moment's too precious. Looking back to every awkward moment she's in, this was the one she would never forget.
