Hello.
Chapter 11
I reached out for the golden knob, and let my hand sit there while it absorbed its heat.
My legs were shaking and my cheeks were tickled pink, I could tell by the way they burned. I cursed myself for wearing my stupid thin coat.
The weather made me wonder if Elsa was on her period, it was freezing outside.
Quickly, I turned the knob to the right and it swung open. I fell inside and the door slammed shut behind me, like it does in those cheesy scary movies. I quickly tore off my jacket and boots and just sat on the ground, propped up against the door. The heat welcomed me with its softest hug.
"Woo-hoo! In your fucking face!!!"
I jumped up.
I almost forgot where I was. I walked into the living room to see Anna, the guys from the mall, and of course, Ryan. The were all huddled around something on the floor. It reminded me of my cousins playing with their Pokémon cards or whatever it was they used to play with. I smiled at the thought of it.
"Hey guys." I waved, but nobody looked up. I wanted to run around screaming that the life of the party has now arrived, but with their level of focus, I knew that would be a bad idea.
"Fine. I'll just take these homemade brownies and be on my way," I teased. I made my way back in the hall with my arms out in front of me so it looked like I was carrying something.
Instantly all of their heads popped up, as if they just noticed me, and they all ran to hug me. Various hey's and hi's erupted from around the room, while I struggled to hug them back with my last dying breath.
Kyle looked down at my empty hands and looked at me as if I killed his own mother. "How could you do this to us Bri?"
I laughed and suddenly everybody stopped hugging me to glare at my empty hands.
"You lied," Anna seethed. It kinda made me feel bad because she was the first person to ever learn my secret recipe and see me work my magic. She said I had a brow-nection. Yes that stands for brownie connection.
"Okay, so maybe I didn't bring brownies, but I brought something even better..." I tried.
They all looked at me as they crossed their arms.
"What?" This came from that rude arrogant boy. I remember Anna telling me his name, I think it was Carson? No no, it was Michael. I'm sure if it.
Tell me Brielle, how do you mix Carson up with Michael
"Me!" I smiled and showed them my best jazz hands.
The group groaned and glared at me before pushing me on the couch and going back to their circle of...prosperity?
Two comforting arms wound themselves around my waist and pulled me back. I moaned a soft little moan when two lips burned the sensitive skin below my earlobe.
Ryan.
I sunk deeper into him and let myself drown in his smell. He smelled, citrusy. Like pineapples.
Ryan is my official pineapple man.
"Why are you laughing?" he chuckled, his lips were still on my ear and I shivered when he spoke. His voice sent chills down my spine.
I don't remember when we became so close.
"Oh nothing. Pineapple man," I said the last part quietly, but I think he heard it due to the funny look he had given me.
