Jungkook stopped attempting to protect himself from the blows being delivered to his body as he could no longer feel them, his body had gone numb to the pain. The cocking of a gun let Jungkook know that his time was up. He wasn't afraid to die, in fact he welcomed it. Finally, all his pain and suffering will end. He closed his eyes and waited for death to take him.

A cracking sound was heard followed by something heavy hitting the ground. Jungkook slowly opened his eyes, seeing a blurred pink figure reaching out to him, before everything went black.

Jin was heading home after a long day at work. He also stopped at the grocery store in order to get the ingredients to make Taehyung his favorite meal for dinner as it was his birthday. It was getting colder, and darker outside, snow starting to lightly fall. Jin's phone suddenly rang causing him to pull over to the side of the road.

"Hello?"

"Hey, you almost home? You said you'd be home an hour ago."

Jin couldn't help smile at the worry he heard laced in the caller's voice. "I know Joonie, I'm sorry, I was detoured due to an accident, but I'll be there soon. Fifteen minutes?" Jin's phone beeped softly. He pulled the phone from his ear and looked at the screen. Low battery. 'Shit' he thought, before putting the phone back to his ear. "Hey Joonie, listen, my phone's on it's last leg, so I gotta go. See you in fifteen."

"See you in fifteen. Be careful out there. Love you."

"Love you."  Jin hung up and was about to pull back onto the road when something up ahead caught his eye. He squinted his eyes against the darkness and snow, focusing. It appeared to be a man pulling another, slightly shorter male, behind him, though it was difficult, as the shorter male seemed to be pulling against him, and digging his feet into the ground. Jin gasped as the taller male spun and hit the other before throwing him over his shoulder and walking further into the tree line. Jin quickly flicked on his hazard lights and exited his car, grabbing the bat he kept in the back seat as he did so. Locking the car behind him, he began to follow the man and his captive.

--------------------

Jin followed as quickly, and quietly as possible, but soon lost sight of them. He stopped walking and debated his options.

Call the police? No. With his phone dying, he wouldn't get all the information out before it finally gave out, if it wasn't dead already.

Get help? No. It's too far, and would take too long. Who knows what could happen to the boy in that time.

Just then, he heard what sounded like muffled crying , whimpers, and flesh hitting flesh. He slowly made his way forward, the sounds getting louder the closer he got, his grip on the bat tightening.

Jin reached the strangers location just as he was cocking a gun aimed at the boy lying at his feet, who didn't seem to be moving. Before the man could fire a shot, Jin brought the bat down hard upon his head, hearing a cracking sound before the man fell to the ground. Without sparing a second glance at the fallen man, he hurried over to the boy, and a boy he certainly was. He had to be around seventeen, eighteen? He definitely wasn't older than twenty. Jin reached out for the boy just as he fell unconscious.

'He's still breathing.' Jin sighed in relief at that thought, and gently picked the boy up. It was slow going, but they made their way back to the car.

Sitting the boy against the car for a moment, he fished his keys out of his pocket and unlocked the door. He gently laid the boy in the backseat, buckling him in before closing the door and making his way to the driver's seat. Once buckled, in he threw one last look at the backseat, before pulling back onto the road and heading home.
