Avoiding The Obvious

William sat down on his bed, dropping his shoulder bag next to him with a deep sigh of relief. He had been worried that Henry would have completely rejected his idea of opening a kids themed restaurant. He didn't peg Henry for being much of a kid person, but that's why William put him in charge of the robots.

William turned his attention to the window next to his bed, observing the other students as they walked by.  Although he has been in America for a few years now, he did miss his hometown in England. He missed just about everything; the weather, the people, the food, everything but his father. He was glad he was able to slip away, with the help of his mother of course. Right now, Mr. Afton thinks William is in training with the British Navy. William's father always wanted William to be the proper military man that he was. Although, William had different plans for himself.

"So, what did you want to talk about?"

The sound of Henry's voice made William snap back to attention, shoving the thoughts about his father back into the far depths of his mind.

"Ah, there you are." The young Englishman turned his attention to his partner. "Did you get the book?"

"Why would I not?" Henry sighed and held up the book in his hand. "I'd rather not hear you complain and bitch at me all day for not getting it."

"Wonderful." William smiled and stood up. "Good to know that you're serious about this."

"I still think you're crazy.."

"Oh stop, you know you love me."

"I-..uhm," Henry was taken by slight surprise, he shook his head, his expression tinted with annoyance.  "Whatever you say Will."

Henry turned his face away from his friend and awkwardly stared down at the floor. He hated the weird feeling he always got around William. He didn't know whether he was nervous, intimidated, or something else entirely.

"What's wrong with you?" William asked, noticing the slight blush on his room mate's face.

"Nothing!" Henry quickly responded, "I just hate it when you say things like that."

"Like what?" That sly smirk returned to William's face. He loved any opportunity he got to play with Henry like this. "When I say something like this?"

William stepped closer and reached out his hand, gently placing it on Henry's shoulder as he looked up at him. His gleaming silver eyes seeming to draw Henry in, watching as Henry stared back at him, his face only inches from his, making William's smile grow wider.

"You know I adore you Mr. White, you're awfully cute when you blush."

Henry's eyes grew wide, his blush only growing as he quickly stepped back, away from William's grasp.

"Dammit William you know I hate it when you do shit like that!" He let out an angered groan as he stumbled backwards to the door he just entered from.

"Where do you think you're going?" Confused, William put a hand on his hip, watching to see what his friend would do next. Obviously amused, but at the same time, a bit hurt that he was running.

"Anywhere away from you!" Henry turned his back and fled out of the room, slamming the door behind him. Making sure not to look back at William, knowing that if he saw William's face, he'd want to go back in.

He sped down the hallway in a blur, dodging his way past other students, trying to get outside to the courtyard. He could be alone there, no one would bother him, and he'd be left alone to his thoughts. Henry was never a people person. He turned to books and other sources to block out other people. He didn't have it easy growing up, abusive parents and school bullies didn't help in the 'making friends' department.

Once outside, he made his way over to an empty spot on the lawn, propped himself up against the small tree that was planted there, and cracked open the robotics book.

The sun was beginning to set, students turning in for the night. It was close to curfew, and the words on the pages of his book were getting harder and harder to read. Henry sighed and closed his eyes, stretching out his arms along with a tired yawn. Like it or not, he was going to have to return to his room, knowing that William would be there.

He closed the book, tucking it away into his bag, and stood up. He tossed his bag over his shoulder and started making his way back over to his building. He'd just have to ignore William and whatever it is he has to say, and climb in bed. Once his head hit the pillow, he knew he'd be out.

It took him a few moments before he worked up the courage to open the door to their room. Only, once the door was open, he was not expecting his plan of running to bed, to already be foiled.

"I was wondering when you were coming back."

William was waiting for him, sitting on the edge of Henry's bed, blocking the younger student's path.

"Oh come on Will, I don't have time for this." Henry closed the door behind him and walked over, dropping his bag at the foot of his bed, standing in front of his friend. "Get off my bed so I can go to sleep."

"No way." William huffed and sat up, looking his partner in the eye. "You can't just walk out on me like that."

"Get off my bed William!"

"Make me." William narrowed his eyes at Henry, knowing he'd never actually do anything to make him move.

"Ugh, will you just move please? I'm not in the mood for this."

"I said, make me."

Henry glared down at William, getting slightly annoyed. "Fine! You want me to make you? Then I'll make you move!"

In a huff of anger, Henry stepped forward in attempt to grab William's leg and drag him off his bed, but once again his plan was foiled as his overly large foot got caught on the corner of the bed.

He stumbled, tripping over his own feet, and letting out a small squeak as he fell right on top of William.

"Well.." William chuckled softly, looking up at his friend who had just pinned him to the bed. "If you wanted to sleep with me that badly, you could have just asked."
