(Edgar's P.O.V)

(Right after Serenity lowers herself into the sewage)

"Why.... why can't I visit your world, Shuu?" I ask, somewhat sheepishly.

Shuu sighs, I've asked this question before. Then he repeats the same thing he's said many times: "I told you, Edgar. My world is very.... cruel. Or, at least, the people in it are. I'm not saying you couldn't handle it," he adds, seeing I'm about to object. "But.... you wonder why I come here all the time, especially with Ren, right? It's to escape that place.... and to see you. Trust me, you wouldn't like it there. But maybe.... maybe one day, I'll take you. Okay?"

"Promise?" I ask hopefully.

He runs a hand through his hair, which I know he does when he's frustrated with me. I grin. "Ugh! Yes! Fine, whatever. I have to go now, Edgar, see you tomorrow-"

"Wait! One more question," I say, grabbing his hand. He looks at me, a little annoyed because he probably thinks I'm going to ask him another serious question. "Am I your favorite human too?" I pipe up, grinning.

To my surprise, he gives me a rare, confident grin and ruffles my hair, something he's never done. Then, just before he turns he grins, a little mischievously. "You were always my favorite human, Edgar.... even before you were Ren's. Alright?"

He smirks when my eyes widen. I'm pretty sure I'm as red as a tomato. "Ah...."

"Just kiss already!"

Me and Shuu whip around at the familar voice, only to see Serenity still half way into the sewage, cradling her head in her hand while her elbow rests on the grass, the lower half of her body still in the sewage, concealed from view.

Her green eyes glint with excitement and amusement, and I scowl as Shuu makes a noise at the back of his throat. Shuu and I instinctively move away from each other as Ren laughs, amused. "Sorry, sorry. I've interrupted, haven't I? Ah, I apologize.... then, see you, Human!"

"Wait!" Says Shuu, before she can lower herself in to the sewage pipe.

"Hmm~?" Ren hums, her head popping back up as she looks up at him and brushes the red bangs out of her eyes.

"How long were you there?"

She grins. "The whole time."

Shuu sighs, probably expecting that. "Of course you were."
