Who were these shepherds shown this sight
When all was quiet on this dark night?
For in the fields they watched their sheep,
No time to rest, no time to sleep.

"This tiny baby new born King
Has come to earth," the angels sing;

Rising up from off of bended knee
Shepherds bow their heads, "How can this be?"

God was unfolding his great plan
Not just for them, but for all man.
"Come let us go to see this sight!"
And off they went, with no more fright.

The babe was found within a stable,
His light shown bright for God was able
To bring this Hope to all of mankind
—this small babe, here, would lead the blind!

This Prince of Heaven born here this day
Would die to take our sins away,
For He was pure and He alone
Could bring us to the Father's throne.

So blessed are we to have such love!
For Jesus came from Heaven above
To die for you and die for me...
Such love and devotion to set us free!

Your sins—they have been taken away!
So trust in Him, my friend—today.
Jesus, He loves you—that's why He came,
And His love for youwill forever remain.
