I was at home watching the Notebook when my mum comes in "Tessa come outside, the new neighbours are here!". I'm not very confident with meeting new people, I go all shy.

I turned off the film and made my way to the front door. I was not in the greatest mood now that I had to stop watching my favourite film just to meet the new neighbours.

When I got to the door I was greeted by a very friendly lady " hello love, I'm Anne Styles". She had a lovely smile; it was contagious. "Hi I'm Tessa" I didn't even need to say my surname as my mum had most probably already said that.

"What a pretty name you have, just like your face" she happily said. I felt my cheeks burning from the compliment. "Aw thank you" I didn't really know what else to say being the shy person I am.

"You should come round for dinner this evening and bring your two kids too. I'm sure Tess will be delighted to see some new faces around here." Mum told Anne. I smiled and said I had to go back to homework. I would have been there forever, so I just let them talk themselves to death.

2 hours later

Mum said I had to dress 'smart casual' so I just popped on my black ankle grazer jeans and my white flowery Hollister top.

As I was making my way downstairs the door bell rang. "Tessa can you get that please I'm finishing the dinner!" She yelled. I was only one room away from her she does not need to yell. God sake. "Okay I'm doing it" I replied.

I opened the door to be greeted by four smiling faces, I laughed at there joyful mood. "Hi guys come in, my mum's just cooking in the kitchen" I stepped to the side to let the thorough. Anne introduced me to the other three people Robin her husband to be, Gemma her daughter and Harry her son. They all gave a hug to me and I willingly gave one back. They seem like such a lovely family.

Once mum, Anne and robin were in the kitchen chatting away I started having a convos action with Gemma and Harry. " So what's it like here, do u like living here?" Gemma asked me " yeah I love it here, everyone is so friendly. You'll like it too" I said. "Oh good!" She said. " so do you go to the high school down the road?" Harry asked me. He hadn't really talked until now "yeah I go Bridgehill High School!" I may have said that a bit too excitedly. I am surprised how I'm acting around Gemma and Harry because I feel really comfortable. I don't feel shy at all in all honesty. "Good because I'm going there, first day tomorrow. At least I know someone so I won't be a loner" he joked, I laughed as well as Gemma "Harry she didn't say you could hang around with her at school, be polite" Gemma looked at me smirking and shaking her head. "It's fine I was going to ask anyway" I said. Harry looked a bit embarrassed but I'm sure he will get over it as he is quite confident.

"Everyone dinner is served!" My mum calls out. We all made our way to the table.

Dinner went really well, I got to know a lot about everyone. I even made arrangements with Harry to meet in the morning to walk to school. He's the same age as me 16 but Gemma is 19. We get along so well.

I'm now washing up with mum clearing the kitchen and dinning room. "You seemed to have a great time tonight Tessa?" Mum questions me. "Yeah,I did" I smiled to myself thinking of all the jokes Harry made at the table. I nearly spat some of my food out and they weren't even funny. It was just how he was trying to make a good one, but he couldn't.

After finishing the dishes my phone vibrated. I unlocked it and it said I have a text from Harry.

'Hey, thanks for a funny evening! don't forget to meet me tomorrow morning ;) xo'

I laughed at his cheeky text. I began texting back.

'It's fine, anytime and I'll try not to forget! ;) xo'

'You better;) xo'

I then switched my phone off for the night and dosed off in a deep sleep.
