Beck is at a docking station in Quadrant 4 repairing his ship when he overhears two alien beings discussing something intriguing.

A bounty?

Things like that never seemed to intrigue Beck very often. For some reason, however, he kept listening to the nearby conversation.

"Yeah, it was set up by those IFA goons," one of them said. A chuckle rose from deep in the other's belly.

"Those backstabbing fucks? They'll put out anything to get those hunters off their asses," the other said, a twisted smile on their face. Beck raised a brow.

"This time it's that old rust-bucket starbase. What's it called? Genesis?"

No.

They couldn't have been talking about Genesis Z12, the thousand-year-old abandoned starship that once belonged to the Hsvanians. He had to get in on this conversation.

"Did you say Genesis? As in Genesis Z12?" he said, approaching them slowly.

"Yeah. What's it to you, frizzy?" one of them asked. They both turned around to face him. One was a huge, burly looking alien with an ugly face, like something out of a film from back home. The other was a bit shorter than the first. He was slim, gruff, and dirty, with gear pieced together from all over the universe.

"You a hunter or something?" The skinnier one prodded, chewing on some sort of foreign tobacco. Beck shook his head.

"No, just a scientist. You said it was issued by the IFA?" Beck retorted, looking up at both of them confidently. They looked at each other and back at Beck.

"Yeah. Shouldn't make it any easier for you, tough guy." The fatter one gave a hoarse chuckle. Beck rolled his eyes.

"Do you know where it is?" The human asked, heated by their arrogance.

"Look, kid. It's somewhere outside Quadrant 7. I don't know the exact coordinates of the damn thing." The thin one barked. Beck nodded and shoved the fuel nozzle back into the dispenser.

"Thank you for your time, gentlemen." He opened the sliding door to his ship and climbed in. He kicked something out of the ship on his way in and shut the doors. As he flew off, the two aliens picked up what Beck dropped.

"The hell is this thing?" The fat one said, looking at the rod-like contraption. He pressed the button on the side of it. It sprayed out smoke that sent both of them coughing like mad.

"Ah, you son of a bitch!" The skinny one bellowed out in the direction of Beck's craft. Beck heard him scream at him from the station and laughed to himself before speeding off into deep space.
