A/N. I haven't seen too many jeremy/squip fan fictions and I'd really like to, so here I am. Updating will be spotty but 🤷🏼‍♀️. Don't be a silent reader! Tell me what you think!

The setting was winter break; the trees were covered in a thicc blanket of snow and it was far enough in the season to where the green grass heads no longer pierced the wonderland. Plainly said, it was freezing. Jeremy Heere was a heat junkie. He'd plans to move to Arizona someday, he imagined the blistering heat and sweltering sun would be blessed on his pasty skin. It was cold outside, though a beautiful, shiny, day. Jeremy woke up early, too accustomed to his alarm aggressively beeping at him on a normal day of hell to really enjoy the first morning hours of freedom. He caught a glimpse of outside as the sun reflected off the snow into his eyes. He groaned, and flopped over on his tummy, dragging his multi colored sheets and a dark pillow with him to cover his head. While holed up and hiding from the world, he went through a mental checklist of things to do today.

"Get up. Screw that. Then, ahhh, shower. Put some pants on, probably a shirt too. Gotta conform to the beauty standards. Put on 500 layers" he chuckled to himself.
"And go grab sushi from that new place downtown for Michael's big 18". Michael was a great friend, and an even better brother, but he was awful with surprises. He'd do anything he could to be able to worm his way into your plans.

"And that's why I didn't tell him" Jeremy smirked to himself. He'd gotten his player two a new game controller skin, Jeremy had received one for his birthday months prior and while Michael was never the jealous type Jeremy had felt a little bad. He'd had one custom made for Michael, one where he'd taken the two mains from apocalypse of the Damned and photo-shopped their faces onto them, the computer whiz he was. With the help of the squip. Jeremy groaned again at the thought of the thing.
Almost on cue, a whispering echo reverberated through his ears. A long drawn out call to him. Some days were better than others, some days he could go a full day without having any reminders. On the flip side, there were days wen the squip was shouting, not quite begging to be heard. Of course Jeremy missed the squip, having constant companionship one day, then an absence of it the next was a hard change for a person of habit.

Beginning to run out of air under the covers, Jeremy threw them off. He welcomed the day with tired arms and grabbed a towel to jump in the shower.
The walls of his room were a dark blue, with red accents. The many picture frames filled with friendly faces wore dark wood around the paper memories. There was the time Jeremy and Michael dressed up as each other for switch day in 6th grade, then there was the day Michael got his braces off and was showing off his pearls, then there was a picture of curtain call from the night before the disaster.

The yearbook had come to take pictures on the dress rehearsal night, aka the day before. It was Jeremy and Christine and everyone else that he'd met. It was a beautiful picture really, almost professional. They all held hands in the air, all clasped. A look of pride sparkled across all their faces while in various degrees of make up. Jeremy smiled at the picture, reminiscing about the good times.

"We could bring it back you know" Jeremy sighed, the squip couldn't control him anymore, but since the pill was still somewhere in his head it was still talking to him. Most of the time he ignored it, sometimes he talked to it, but that's the thing though. They both knew the squip existed, but until Jeremy gave himself over the bug couldn't cause trouble. He threw the towel over his shoulder, and walked through the small hallway to his more or less personal bathroom. He almost felt like a hypocrite. He constantly ragged on his father for not wearing pants but here he was, walking shirtless through the house. He smiled to himself, and turned on the hot water.

As he was shampooing, there were more echos. Jeremy'd found that the longer he kept his eyes shut, the more likely the squip was to visit. Sleeping at first was difficult, but he prevailed. He heard the squip materialize with a soft buzz outside the shower curtain. It was going to be one of the harder days.

"Jeremy, we could do it. You know you were happy, I know you miss having my advice. I have the math right, we're better as a pair". Jeremy had heard this argument a couple times before. Usually is was a new reason, a new point he was missing in his life that the squip could fill and most of the time the squip was right. They were better as a pair, and he was happy but he couldn't live that life anymore.

Still somehow self conscious in front of a hologram that's seen him naked before Jeremy turned off the water and reached for a towel while keeping himself covered.

"Jeremy I've seen you naked before" the squip retorted, scoffing lightly. Jeremy blushed, unable to stop himself from hot embarrassment. He wrapped the towel around his waist and shot a dirty look at the squip before shouldering past it to get back to his room.

Folding the towel so it would stay up alright, Jeremy started digging through his closet. He pulled out a nice shirt, one the squip had made him buy. Though I hated to admit it, it was a good looking shirt. It was maroon, not too dark though. A nice color pairing with his pale skin that contrasted his dark green eyes, making them look brighter. Throwing it on after jumping into a pair of back skinny jean and grey vans, he called his best friend, asking if he was ready for his big day. Michael texted back almost immediately, all smiley face and capital letters. Jeremy smiled down at his phone, and grabbed his keys, snagging an apple on the way out. Without the bug to look after him, it was strange to remind himself of things again. To eat, to sleep, to get off his phone, it was only for a short time but life was taken care for a while.

Jeremy hopped in his father's car, a blue jeep with the top rolled on and started to Michael's house. The squip hadn't left his side, and now sat in the front seat. He tried his best to ignore it, especially around other people. Today was going to be a long day.

A/n again, tell me what you think, in this, the squip can only be seen by Jeremy, and Michael and Jeremy are just friends (sorry). I'll try to be here as often as I can, but I forget a lot. Also, I have some really good ideas, just you wait.
