02 - He is Persistent

When the autumn comes, I wonder what's on your mind?

"Not okay. I cannot be friends with you because I don't know you. You have a lesson to attend now, so I urge you to return to your school and forget this encounter between both of us. I wish you a goodbye," Jorden's face immediately dropped after the man (also known as Yihan) said with a deadpanned look. Yihan then tucked his hair behind his left ear, exposing the said ear to the wind that was blowing. Jorden sighed, letting go of his hand and scratched his hair with the same hair. Out of the sudden, his eye caught onto the mole on... his ear?

He moved forward again, this time leaning closer to Yihan's face. Once again, a shocked look was painted on the other male's face as he tried to push Jorden away from him. "What's wrong with you? Don't come so close to me!" Yihan shouted bewilderedly, but that did not seem to stop Jorden from coming close to his... ear?

"Is that a mole on the tip of your ear?" Jorden tilted his head innocently as he observed the other male's ear carefully. Yihan's ear reddened upon Jorden's question and he snapped, "None of your business! Just back away from me! You're too close!"

"Ah, it is! That looks really cute on you! Wait, your ears are red. Are you... embarrassed?" teased Jorden as he gave a Cheshire cat's grin. He then backed away, which made Yihan sighed in relief. "Jokes aside, I mean what I said, you know... about being friends with you," said Jorden as he looked into Yihan's eyes with seriousness blazing in his irises.

"Why? There's nothing special about me. You had your fun earlier, and it's time to let it go. I don't see how I'll benefit by socializing with you. Go back to your school, and you will eventually forget this encounter we had."

"Dunno... It's just the rising urge in me to, you know, to get to know you? I wonder what kind of world do you live in to have to socialise with anyone who benefits you? I don't really understand that, and I don't want to. I just want to have fun, and I'm gonna drag you into this fun! If you furrow your eyebrows anymore, your wrinkles will start showing! Look, you have so many wrinkles now!" Quickly, Yihan lifted his hand to touch his face, as if to scan for any wrinkles available. "Just kidding," winked Jorden as he chuckled loudly.

Sighing, Yihan shrugged as a defeated smile flashed onto his face. "You're a persistent one, aren't you?"

"Well, that's what I'm known for. You're not bad yourself, so give yourself an applause for holding that up."

Yihan clapped monotonously, with a pair of deadpanned eyes staring into Jorden's. He looks so stoic, but for some reasons, that makes him funny. Right after that, the sound of a bell rang, reverberating through the forest. Swiftly, Jorden looked at the direction of the school as he cursed to himself, "Fuck, the next lesson's math. I have to get back, or else that ol' man will kill me!" With that, he turned his head to Yihan, then to the school and repeated this for a few times before saying, "I've got to go! I'm coming back here later at 6.00 pm! Name's Jorden Liew Sheng Jie, nice to meet ya!" And his figure became smaller as he ran down the forest to his school, leaving Yihan standing there with a dumbfounded expression on his face.

"I never said I'll come back here..." Yihan muttered under his breath as he watched Jorden's figure disappearing after a while. Shrugging again, he turned behind and walked off to the opposite direction.

"Skipping PE class, running out of the school, and being late for my math. Growing daring, aren't we?" Jorden's homeroom teacher, Mr Xia challenged as he hit Jorden's head with his rolled-up math textbook. Jorden could have sworn that Weiren was snickering behind his back as he faced the music in front of the class. Looking up, Jorden clenched his teeth and positioned his hands in a praying manner. "Sorry, ol' ma- Mr Xia, I do enjoy your math lessons, so I'm not skipping this lesson intentionally, eh? See, I'm here and the lesson hasn't ended?"
