When the autumn comes, will you still show me that smile again?
Since young, Jorden received attention from all sorts of people - kids of his age, adults and elderly. A bubbly and jovial kid he was, he never failed to make anyone smile in his presence. Sadness was non-existential in his eyes, something he could never fathom. Why cry when you can laugh like you own the world? That was his motto and he upheld that even when his sister, Joanna Liew passed away. The last time his emotions splattered out of his heart and flowed down as tears down his face was at her funeral. Ever since he braced himself and faced every day as if nothing had happened.
He sought to reach out to many types of people he could find and sought to reach their heart one day. By a little, if he could make someone laugh, his heart would burst in satisfaction and his mission would be done.
He wanted to talk to more people. At least, he wanted to know people who interested him.
How are they like before? What is their history? What do they like to eat? When is their birthday? What kind of music do they like?
He wanted to know. So, he was determined to find out the kind of person Xu Yihan was.
And that was the reason why he was in the forest near his school, waiting for the latter to appear.
But waiting for almost fifteen minutes wasn't something he would call his past time.
Don't tell me he's going to bail out on me, an imaginary sweat rolled down his forehead as his eyes surveyed the surrounding. He leant against the tree, tapping his food onto the grass as his eyes continued to do the searching for him. Then, he glanced down at the grass below, closing his eyes for a second. He then fluttered his eyes open, a smile stretched his lips from ear to ear. If he doesn't come, I'll just have to find him, right?
He never knew why was it that he was persistent to befriend someone who wasn't keen on doing so. But he knew something - if he could crack a tough nut like Li Weiren, there was no reason why he couldn't crack Xu Yihan.
At least, he hoped he could crack him open.
I have until 8.00 pm before the curfew bell starts ringing, so no rush, no rush, Jorden thought as he switched on his phone to check the time. 6.20 pm. How long is he going to make me wait? Just then, a crack sound made by a broken twig rang at the side of his ears. He turned around, only to face a certain man he thought was too beautiful to be one.
"You're late!" Jorden pouted as he initiated the move to walk towards him.
"The last time I remembered I didn't agree to meet you here."
"But you're here anyway."
"It's because it's because I have something to do here."
"What?"
It has nothing to do with you," the man crossed his arms when Jorden reached his side. Sitting down, Jorden tugged the bottom of Yihan's vest, as if to invite him to sit down too. Sighing in return, Yihan squatted down, beating the grass and finally settled down.
"What do you want with me?" Yihan asked, not looking at Jorden in the eye. Instead, his eyes wandered above the sky, as if the sky was the most fascinating thing ever. Peering at his side, Jorden caught onto Yihan's Adam's apple bobbing up and down as the latter's eye sparkled in mild amusement.
"The sky is really pretty, especially when it's autumn," Jorden said finally when his eyes finally looked up onto the sky and he leaned back a little. "The autumn's breeze is the best too."
