All Ends with Beginnings

The Ring

*2 days later*

Scott panics, pacing back and forth.

Kirstie: Scott, just calm down.

She says, sitting on the hotel bed.

Scott pushing his fingers through his hair.

Scott: I can't, Kirstie! It's not here yet!!

Avi: It will be soon, Scottie. Just give it time.

Kevin: I'm sure it'll be here in an hour or so.

Mitch walks in the room.

Mitch: What will be here soon?

He asks.

Scott stops pacing. His heart races.

Scott: Nothing..

Avi: New ears...

He says to help.

Mitch: Oh, we're finally getting new ears?! Awesome!

He smiles and he sits on the other bed.

Avi: Yes we are...and Scott here is really excited about it...right Scott?

Scott forces a smile and thumbs up.

Scott: Yep...

Kirstie stands up suddenly, with a plan to get Mitch away from Scott before the ring comes.

Kirstie: Mitch! I found the cutest shirt downstairs in the hotel giftshop! You have to see it!

Mitch smiles and jumps up.

Mitch: Let's go!

He kisses Scott's cheek and leaves the room with Kirstie.

The others watch until the door shuts.

Scott flicks his attention back to Avi and Kevin.

Scott: I can't do this!

Avi: Yes you can.

Scott: No! I can't!

Kevin: Why not?

Scott: He's gonna say no!

Avi: How do you figure?

Scott: There's a lot more better looking guys out there for him!

Kevin: Scott, Mitch loves you for you. Not your looks.

Avi: Plus he always talks about how good looking you are.

Scott sits on a chair and runs his fingers through his hair, taking a deep breath.

Avi: How are you gonna ask him?

Scott sighs.

Scott: I don't even know, man..

They sit in silence and think.

After a few minutes of thinking, Scott gets an idea.

He gasps.

Scott: I got it!

Kevin and Avi: What is it?

Scott: Wyatt!

Avi and Kevin: Wyatt?

Scott: Yes, Wyatt!

Avi: What do you mean?

Scott: Well, we haven't seen our cat, Wyatt in forever and Mitch misses him like crazy, so I thought we could fly Wyatt out here to us, and I can put the ring on a collar around Wyatt's neck. Then when Wyatt walks around, Mitch will see him, get really excited, pick him up, notice he's wearing a collar, look at it, and see the ring attached to it! Then when he sees it, he will take it off his collar, hold it, I will come up, put Wyatt down, take Mitch's hands and ask him to marry me...

Kevin and Avi: That's perfect!!!

Scott: All we have to to is wait for the ring and get Wyatt out here.

Avi: You've calmed down a lot!

Someone knocks on the door.

Scott rushes back into panic.

Scott: Oh no! It's here...

Avi: Spoke too soon.

Kevin: Scott, calm down. Everything will be fine.

Avi: Just go answer the door.

Scott: I can't..

Avi sighs and answers the door.

Avi: Thank you.

He takes the case with the ring in it and shuts the door as the guy leaves.

He hands Scott the ring.

Scott stops, opens it and stares at the tiny shining ring in his hand that's marked "Mitch Grassi-Hoying".

He smiles holding it tight.

Amazingly, it calms him down.

Scott: Let's get Wyatt.
