🦋❄️
I took a good luck at the boy in front of me. He had brown chestnut hair which were in dreadlocks. His eyes were a hickory pigment as rich as the earth's soil; stained with the colour of hot chocolate on a cold, winter night that wraps around you like a blanket; engulfs you in its warmth and makes you feel at home. He had on a maroon robe with precise details on it. His smile was soft and comforting and it crinkled at the corners. Tiny constellations of freckles were speckled across his cheeks and on the bridge of his nose.
Turning away from my thoughts, the small child who was arguing with Scott had left. The cute boy who seemed around my age was talking with Scott
"Take it easy on her, will ya? Who are you?" Scott snapped at the boy.
"I'm Bernard. Nice to meet ya, Santa."
Huh? Although the boy named Bernard was very attractive, I had to question his statement.
I took a brief moment to rethink everything that had happened in the last few hours. It seemed logical to be in the North Pole. I mean, there was children running about in a workshop, with multiple people referring to Scott as "Santa". If this was a dream, I would never want to wake up."I'm not Santa! I've had a rough night. There'a been dogs barkin', guns goin' off. Look, my back's killin' me. Have you ever tried to shove a sea kayak down a chimney?"
"I'm tired of this small talk."
"Hm?"
Bernard and Scott argued back and forth, walking down the hallway with Charlie and I trailing behind them. We were led to a hallway which didn't have any children around. Just as we had stopped, we were suddenly following Scott and Bernard again as they wandered into what seemed to be the main workshop.
Kids were at stations building wooden toys, or putting objects through machines. Bernard had led us towards a small train that seemed to have a trail around the building.
Charlie and I hopped on the train with Bernard. Scott was too tall to fit on the train with us, so he had to take the next train that came.
As the train came to a stop, I took Charlie's hand and guided him to a large room in front of us. I assumed this was where we would be staying tonight. Bernard took out a key and opened the door for us. Charlie ran inside, already tired from the night's adventures.
As soon as I was about to step into the room, the brown haired beauty uttered out a soft noise.
"Uh- hey, I never got your name," Bernard managed to stutter out.
I managed to hide my now rosy cheeks, "It's Samantha, but you can call me Sam."
He smiled and took a mental note. "I hope to see you soon enough Sam. It was a pleasure to meet you tonight."
He shyly turned around and left. I was sad to see him go. I had just met this charming boy, and I never knew if I was going to see him again.
I faintly whispered a "Thanks", smiled, and walked into the bedroom.
Charlie had already taken the bed, so I hopped onto the couch. I laid my head on the soft cushion and closed my eyes, praying that I can see the curly haired cutie that had ever so politely stole my heart tonight.
