💋🥀

It seemed like only a few minutes had past since I had fallen asleep on the very comfortable cushion on the couch. However, I opened my eyes to see my bedroom ceiling.

Was I really dreaming all along?

I crawled out of bed and dashed to the window. Scott was already on his snow covered lawn, frantically searching about the snow. I quickly got dressed, making sure to wear my 'ugly' Christmas sweater today. I slipped my Vans on and ran outside, quickly knocking on Scott's door.

In an instant, he opened it and let me inside. I could tell right away that Scott must have felt just as confused as I was. I entered the living room where Charlie was eagerly opening his presents.

"Merry Christmas Charlie!" I greeted him. "Get anything good in there?"

As Charlie heard my voice, he jumped up to give me a hug.

"Sam! Merry Christmas!"

I ruffled his hair and he went back to opening the last of his presents.

Scott sat down in his black leather chair. His face was flustered and scrunched in confusion. He looked like he had just run a marathon.
Before I could ask him if he was okay, the doorbell rang.

Charlie's mother, Laura, greeted Charlie while he went to collect his gifts. Scott and Laura were discussing about the previous night. I followed them out the door and down to the Miller's car. I decided to head home and finish getting ready for the day.

As I was about to step inside my warm house, I heard Charlie mention something about the North Pole. I froze, and quickly went inside, wondering if Charlie was right. I quickly dashed into the living room. As I expected, there were presents underneath the tree. It was odd, remembering that no one was home last night or this morning.

I went upstairs, my mind spinning. As I sat down in my comfy desk chair, I saw an envelope on my wooden desk.
This wasn't here last night or this morning... where had it come from?
I picked up the sealed envelope and read who it was addressed to.

"To Sam" in elegant cursive writing was printed across the front of the envelope. There was no return address, which was strange. I carefully opened the letter, making sure not to rip the delicate paper. Removing the casing, I pulled out a small letter.

It read, "Dearest Samantha, it was a pleasure meeting you last night at the Pole. I do hope we can meet again. From yours truly, Bernard the Head Elf."

I reread the letter over and over, not believing what I was actually reading. It was the cute boy from last night. It was real. The workshop, the train, the sleigh, and the curly haired boy.
But how could he have gotten the letter here, in my room?

I decided to not dwell on the matter, and to write back. With an eager pace, I quickly wrote a response back.

I ran downstairs and grabbed an envelope from the cabinet. Racing back upstairs, I put my letter in the envelope and sealed it. I placed the letter down on my desk and decided to leave and wait.

As I stepped out of my room and closed the door, my heart was racing a mile a minute.
I was finally able to contact Bernard. Maybe, just maybe, I had a chance with the charming elf.
