CHAPTER 4

"So....... how was it? " I remained silent but Ash kept screaming that I felt like hanging up. " Lemme have a chance to speak at least" I told her
"Sorry am just a bit anxious" I couldn't hold it in. I just told her everything (leaving out my day dream as I knew she would think I was crazy) how it was all well until Chelsea showed up and started flirting with him. She obviously felt bad for me that I had to stand her yet I was with the boy I had a huge crush on. We then talked about school and other things to put my mind off things.

At school the next morning, I was late the whole day for each and every lesson. The day generally wasn't mine At the end of the last period I could only think of rushing home to bury myself in a series or novel or something to eat. I loved eating and Ash warned me a thousand times that I'd get fat but I love my food too much so I ignore her warning. Well those calories must go somewhere because am not fat at least not to me.

"Mena...Mena hold up " a voice called to me as I was just about to get into the car with Ash. It was Gavin.

"Wow you move fast. You should join athletics. I have been trying to catch up to you since you left class but .... anyways where are you going? you have a tutoring session with me."
Jeez I forgot about that I'm so stupid. I must seem so stupid right now "I am so sorry Gavin I forgot, I'm such a clutz ...... Ash I'll catch up with you " I say this as I turn to my best friend who is looking like such a fool with that wide grin on her face.
"it's fine I will catch you at your place " she says as she gets into her car, waves good bye and off she went leaving me with an incredulously hot boy standing behind me. I sigh and turn around to see his blue eyes fixed on me. Uncomfortably I walk in front of him "Shall we?" He grins at me and moves on.

I enter the first room I see empty and sit at the front and pull out my notebook.
"so what are we discussing?" A corky voice asks me. It sounded very close to me and when I spring up I see a grinning Gavin. " You scared me" I spat
" I noticed, I'm so sorry I didn't mean to..." he giggled "why don't we start with whatever the maths teacher was yapping about today I didn't get a thing"

"Uhm okay.....but...." I look around "...... where's Chelsea isn't she supposed to be here" Not that I want her around trust me I hate her gutts
He laughs out loud and I wonder why "Do you really think that she would be interested in this?" he answers me.

Uhm not shocked to be honest I do not even know why the teacher bothered to get her to be tutored

"Not like I blame her, what is this I mean are we ten ...... tutoring, huh!" He turned around and put his bag on a table as he flexed onto a seat opposite me "Don't get me wrong it's not you if it was not for my basketball, I would not be here."

"Uhm ...excuse me!" I say utterly in shock

" Seriously nothing personal but my mom refuses to let me continue with basketball unless I have good grades. So she asked the teacher to get me a tutor and they gave me .....you" he said as he said 'the you' in a mocking way

"I'm sorry what do you mean ...'you'..." I asked him. Suddenly I could no longer see the cute boy girls ran after. All I could see was a dumb ass who needs my help and is treating me like trash.

"Don't take it in a rude way but you are just not my type.... you're a 'nerd'" he answered me " and I just happen to not associate with such people"

What! Was he saying that he's too high class for me or am not popular enough for him " Look here 'Gavin' I didn't sign up for this and incase you haven't noticed, it takes up my time too so do us both a favor and don't act like a jerk" I said as my eyes filled with anger

" Hey don't pull your emotional act here and lets get to what we actually came to do " Gavin says as he pulls out his maths book which looks brand new by the way
"Is that your math notebook of this year cause the year has just kinda started and I don't think the previous one is done"

"So what are you now my mom... this is the only book I have heard since do you have a problem with it" he looks at me and cocks his head to the side
I nod in response and I thinkin notice a few scribbles on the first pages. Does this guy even pay attention in class. " Maybe if you actually write something down to read later then maybe you won't need me at all .... just putting it out there" I state.

We went through my notes and I explained to him although sometimes he would take like a decade to understand and before I knew it, it was getting dark. 'Shit! Aileen is gonna be so worried and Her old is obviously going to complain.' I glanced at my phone and get several missed calls from Aileen and Eric then texts from Casey and Ash obviously. I stand up and tell jerk face that I have to go with no words he stands up and we both walk out of the room and when he reaches his car, he hopes in and starts the engine
I never thought of this how am I gonna get home I normally go with Ash but since she is not here I guess I'll be walking then. Just as I take a foot out, Gavin peeps at me, "Want a ride I can drop you off ....."
Before he could finish I interrupt " No need I'd rather  walk " but he insisted God knows how scared I was. I could not reject a rude from a cute boy with that captivating face so I agreed. We were silent the whole journey and I only said a thank you as I got out of his car and into the house.
