CHAPTER TWO: School

"Uhm mom we're gonna be late and today Ash and I want to do something before school starts." I told my mother as she put the breakfast on the table.

Darling aren't you gonna eat something," my mother said

Nope not hungry" I told her with a lot of enthusiasm and hopped off into e car.

"Mena don't starve yourself you know how you feel when you don't eat" Eric told me (my big brother). He was right the last time I did not eat, I don't know what came over me. I was quite restless and got weird sensations in my body then I started convulsing. I knew I did not belong to this world mother and father told me when I was eight and gave me an album and a locket that she left behind
I ate something and scurried off to school in denim jeans that hugged my curves and a black tank top and a white cardigan.
I found Ash my bestie on my way as we talked about Gavin Rogers, the cutest boy in school who played basketball. Obviously he would never notice me with the girls that were always around him especially those cheerleaders waving their assessment in front of him.

We got to school and we were like the school's biggest nerds, Ash and I had signed up for the school's math contest. Of which I love math
I had a weird ability to grasp the concepts very fast which my friend considers abnormal and she often jokes about it being alien. obviously I laugh it off .I wish I could tell her but I promised Aileen and Herald that I wouldn't.

I enter class and obviously Gavin is sorted there looking dreamy as always. I could just go and kiss him and tell him how I feel but I heard that that would be quite weird In all ways so I just take my seat midway the class.
Chelsea and her minions enter class and when they spot Gavin they move to him. It was no secret she liked him but we all knew he didn't but she kept acting like they were a thing. Chelsea and her minions were so dumb they never got a thing in class but their parents seemed to have it all so they couldn't care less.
School day was done and I was getting out of class with Ash, Mrs. Jones calls me back and I turn around as I tell Ash that I'll catch up to her. The teacher tells me that I have to tutor Gavin because his grades were getting low and he had to keep up so that he could continue with his basketball. It was like a blessing and a curse cause along with Gavin I had to tutor Chelsea.

I rushed out and told Ash we jumped up and down in excitement. "So .....when do you start?"
"Tomorrow afternoon" I told her as I put my books in my locker
