The Winchesters and their angel have set up at the rundown Blackbird Hotel.

Castiel sat across from Dean at the table looking into a book. He every once in a while looks up at Dean who is on Sam's laptop researching. Sam is out for groceries so Dean and Cass are alone. "Have you found any useful information, Dean?" Cass asked abruptly.

Dean glanced up from the laptop at Castiel when he spoke and soon answered with, "Nothing useful..." He mumbled and looked back down at the screen of the computer, continuing to research.

Castiel looked back down at the book and flipped the page. This is not useful at all. All it tells is the history of Salem, nothing on the witch. He shut the book and sat there quietly, just staring at the stunning hunter in front of him.

"Read through the whole book already?" Dean asked after a while of silence between them when he noticed Castiel wasn't reading anymore, and was in fact looking at him.

Cass looked down at the book and said "No. It wasn't about the witch. It mainly centered around the history of Salem and The Salem Witch Trials."

"Well that's useful..." Dean answered sarcastically. He eventually closed the laptop and made eye contact with Castiel, "We're not getting anywhere with this researching shit."

"I know, Dean. Sam is out retrieving supplies. Maybe we should investigate the town?" He paused, then looked out the window to the left of the research table, "We could see if there is any evidence since hunting in the field is your strong suit. Where as, Sam, is better with research." Castiel suggested.

Dean rubbed his eyes a bit in frustration of the case, but nodded after a moment. "Yeah... You're right. That'll probably be better anyways... To go look for evidence." He agreed.

Castiel smiled then asked, "Should we wait for Sam?"

"Nah... For all we know he could take hours and I don't have the patience to wait for his lazy ass," He paused and stood up, "I can just tell him that we'll be out looking for more evidence."

"Alright Dean." Cass said standing from the chair. Due to the long hours of research his wings felt unused and cramped. It was annoying and slightly painful. He made a mental note to stretch them later when neither Dean or Sam was around.

Dean grabbed his jacket from the chair as well as his keys to the impala before quickly writing a note for Sam so he knows where they are when he gets back. Castiel followed along behind Dean in a puppy-like fashion.

Dean walked across the sidewalk and through the black, cracked pavement to reach the Impala. He unlocked her, and got inside.

Cass opened the door and slid into the back seat, after all, the front seat was always reserved for Sam. He was once again drawn in on the fact that his wings were irritating him, 'I could just stretch them in the building when me and Dean split up,' Castiel thought. Dean once saw the shadowy outline of them at the barn when they were first acquainted to each other, but that's all. Castiel didn't think Dean could handle that level of divinity. At least... Not yet.

Dean glanced over at Castiel as he got into the vehicle, "Where should we head to? Latest, first?" He asked in question.

"I feel as though the second scene wasn't examined enough, so, perhaps there?" He said in an unsure voice. Truth be told, the case was pretty cold. Not much evidence, no special M.O., and no way to trap them.

Dean hesitated before he nodded slowly in response, "I guess so, man. This case is pretty dead, though. I'm thinking that, after this, we'll have to wait for their to be another victim before we can even try to continue it." He said.

"I agree," Castiel stated in response as Dean started up the car. Baby hummed and they backed out of the lot on a witch hunt.

The bulk of the way there was spent by Castiel staring at the window, and Dean humming along to Led Zeppelin. Even though it was silent between them, it wasn't really awkward for them.
It wasn't long until they made it to the crime scene of the latest murder, and Dean got out of the car, "Alright. Let's go," He said before walking out of the car with Castiel and to the trunk. By now he knew Castiel didn't need anything from it, but Dean did, just in case.

Castiel and Dean, once they had grabbed a few supplies, headed inside the two story house. It was the home of a Jeremy Corvallis, who was the latest in a set of odd-ass murders. It's only been males so far, and they've been found dead of a broken heart. A literal broken heart, and a hard-on.

It was a pretty large house; it being two floors, an attic, and a basement. They stepped inside with a couple of flashlights and and started making a game-plan

"I'm going to check the attic and second floor, you take this floor, and the basement." Cass stepped away from Dean and headed upstairs. Castiel noticed nothing on the second floor itself and headed to the attic, plus, it's big and open a enough to stretch his wings.

Dean nodded in acknowledgement before continuing to search his half of the house. He took more time to search than Castiel, so he was still on his first floor when Castiel moved to his second.

When Castiel reached the attic he instantly felt a change of atmosphere. It was cooler than the other floors, so this made no sense. Heat rises, so this floor should be the hottest, not the coldest. Castiel finally unfurled his wings and the stretched across the attic, tips of his end feathers reaching the wall. He calmly slipped out his angel blade, in case his instinct was correct, but also sighed in relief when his wings were released.

"An angel?" A voice echoed softly after he had a few moments of silence, "I knew I picked up something strange." The voice echoed once again. It seemed to be coming from no direction on particular, seemingly from his head. He looked around, walking through every inch of the basement. There was no one but him in that room.
