Chapter 3:

Maka Pov

I didn't really talk to anyone at school today. Our group didn't even pressure me into talking. I was wearing sweatpants 2 sizes to big and a large hoodie with no shirt underneath in attempt to hide my physique.
At lunch one of Souls fan girls sat with us. She sat in my seat so it was her, soul, And Kid on one side of the table, me, Liz, and tsubaki across from them and patty and Black*Star on the ends. Everyone acted like I wasn't even there... especially Soul he wouldn't even look in my direction. I tried to read his soul but he kept shutting me down. So I left and none of them even acknowledged the fact I had gotten up.

I know what's going on. Maka is in love with Soul and he's purposely throwing it all way by parading tons of girls in front of her. Maka looks terrible her pigtails are falling her eyes are a dull green instead of their usual lively color and her clothes are a few sizes too big.
Nobody is talking to her at lunch and Soul has a random girl in her seat. I don't know what it is with everyone but they don't even glance at her when she gets up with tears in her eyes and walks away. They continue with their conversation.
"So Mary, how come we've never seen you around before?" -Black*Star
"Oh! I don't go here Soul just invited me to have lunch with him so here I am."
After that I just kind of drown out the conversation. I feel so bad for Maka. She doesn't deserve this. Soul should at least tell her he doesn't want to be with he instead of slowly breaking her heart.

Souls Pov

I'm happy no one is asking me about Maka but at the same time I feel horrible that she's feeling so isolated... While we were sitting at lunch she kept trying to read my soul and I kept rejecting her. So while she was sitting there lost in thought trying not to cry I read hers. She her soul felt so cold and sad.
Then she got up and walked away and no one even glanced in her direction.
