Flake woke the next morning, Tyler still snoring peacefully beside her. She had a good rest and was for sure her strength had fully returned. Careful not to disturb Tyler, she stood up and quietly padded out of the cavern. When she stepped out she realized the sun wasn't shining as brightly as it had been the past days. Flake looked up into the sky to see dark clouds moving across. Great, rain,  She thought to herself.

Flake padded over to some bushes and gave it a good sniff. As Flake was sniffing she heard a rustle come from inside a bush. She stepped backward and studied the bush. Giving it a good sniff, she realized it was a hare. Flake crouched down, wiggling her haunches preparing to spring.

The hare jumped out of the bush with a bundle of grass in its mouth. Flake crept forward a tad bit, then sprang the hare. The hare panicked and ended up jumping right into her paws. Flake bit down on the hare's neck, killing it in a single bite.

Flake was so happy to be strong enough to hunt and was proud of her catch. Flake buried her catch, to keep it fresh, before lifting her head into the air to sniff out another piece of prey.

A few moments later Flake had caught a dove and a hare and was caring it proudly back to the cavern. When she arrived at the cavern she was surprised to see that Tyler was still sound asleep. Flake looked up at the sky, we need to get moving, she thought.

Flake dropped the prey and stuck her head into the cavern, "Tyler," She called, "Tyler, I caught us some prey, it's time to wake up." The words echoing off the walls. Flake backed out of the cave and waited for Tyler to come out.

Tyler walked sluggishly out of the cavern, letting out a mighty yawn, "Good morning." He said plopping down ungracefully. Letting out a sigh he picked up the dove and tore a small mouth full off, "looks like some rain is coming in." He commented trying to make small talk.

Flake nodded chewing a bite of the hare, "Did you get a good sleep?" She asked after swallowing.

Tyler nodded, "I dreamed of the place I grew up, but the dream is very hazy." He finished as he pushed away the remains of his dove.

Flake took one more bite before shoving the scraps away, "We should get moving if we want to get anywhere." She said, pushing herself to her paws.

Tyler stood up, "So... you feel that he is close, which direction do you think he would go?" He asked, Giving his paw a quick wash.

Flake looked at the pointy rock, "I might not have known him, but I do know that if he was gonna go somewhere, he would follow the moon." She said, beginning to take the lead.

Tyler followed right behind her, but as they began to walk up a rocky trail which seemed to lead up and over the pointy rocks he hesitated, "shouldn't we go around, it might take longer but it will be safer." He said, feeling a little nervous about going on the rocky path.

Flake looked over her shoulder, "That is a smart idea, but my brother wouldn't have gone around, he would follow the moon straight on, no shortcuts." She replied. As she finished she saw concern on his face, "Listen this is the way we have to go, I know it, I can almost hear him." She said with a sigh, "He is so close." She said half to herself.

Tyler's eyes widened, "Wait, are you and your brother...Stormlights?" He asked a hint of shock in his voice.

Flake looked down at her paws, "Yes, Yes we are." She said suddenly feeling comforted, "Which is why I must find him." She added with a stern gaze.

Tyler gave her a firm nod, "I'm honored to help you." He said giving a friendly, goofy smile.

Flake gave a little laugh before turning around and continuing up the trail.

Tyler ran until he reached Flake's side. Tyler couldn't help but feel butterflies in his stomach when he was side by side with her. He just loved her determination and the way her eyes light up with amusement and curiosity.

Flake looked at Tyler out of the corner of her eye. I can't help but feel safe and comforted when she is with him, she thought as she led them up the serpentine, rocky path.

After a whiles travel, it began to sprinkle, making the rocks a tad bit slippier. Flake and Tyler pushed up against each other, trying to support each other as they climbed the rugged path. By the time they reached a somewhat flat surface the rain was coming down hard. Flake and Tyler's fur was now cemented to their bodies. "We need to find shelter," Tyler informed Flake.

Flake nodded to show that she heard him then flicked her tail for him to follow. They scurried up a slippery slope and when they reached that top Flake came to an immediate halt, causing Tyler to bump into her.

Tyler let out a yipe of surprise, "Ahh... what's going on." He called just loud enough to hear over the pounding rain.

Flake looked at him over her shoulder, "There is a jump, we can make it if we push off the very edge." She said, trying to sound less scarred than she was.

Tyler wanted to just curl up in a ball and wait this out, but he knew that it wouldn't work. Tyler lifted his head high, "I'll jump first." He said, stepping in front of Flake.

Flake backed up to give him some space, slightly relieved she wasn't going first.

Tyler crouched down ready to spring. Taking a deep breath, he gave a clean stride to the very edge then sprang. He stretched his paws out as far as he could. He landed on the other side with a huff, sliding on his paws a little. Tyler stood up giving his fur a shake, "piece of cake," He said still trying to catch his breath.

Flake narrowed her eyes, I can do this, she thought as she crouched down. Wiggling her haunches she sprinted forward pushing off the edge, but as she pushed off her hind paws slipped, making it not as powerful. Her front paws landed on the other side, but the rest of her dangling off the edge, "HELP!" She called over the rain.

Tyler rushed to the edge and reached down, grabbing her scruff with his teeth. Tyler dug his claws into ground, hauling Flake up onto solid ground

Flake laid there panting, "Th...Thank y...you," She said, trying to catch her breath.

Tyler stood up and padded over to Flake's side, helping her up to her feet. "Come on we need to find some shelter." He said looking around. Tyler Padded a few steps forward and found a crack in the pointy rock.

Tyler led Flake into the cleft, helping her get comfortable. When Flake was comfortable, Tyler settled down next to her.

Flake laid her head on her paws closing her eyes, letting sleep wash over her.
